- De Pijp Travel Tips -

In this De Pijp Amsterdam Guide you will discover the best places in this cosy old neighbourhood in Amsterdam. It’s part of the Amsterdam Old South district and close to Museum Square. With its many squares like Gerard Douplein, Marie Heinekenplein and Van der Helstplein there’s always something happening there. During the warmer months you find a lot of cafes with outdoor seating there. De Pijp is also home to some of the best restaurants in Amsterdam.

During the day De Pijp is a vibrant neighbourhood because of the busy Albert Cuyp Market, which is one of the best markets in Amsterdam where locals and tourists both love to shop. What I also really like is that you can eat a lot of streetfood at the Albert Cuyp Market. From typical Dutch stroopwafels, to dim sum, Japanese pancakes, taco’s and more flavours from all over the world. Even as a local, I like to go there for a bite! In this De Pijp Amsterdam Guide you will find a lot of tips for the Albert Cuyp Market.

In the late afternoon De Pijp gets busy with friends who meet up for drinks at one of the nice cafes and bars. From coffee bars, to lunch cafes and specialty food stores. There’s something for everyone there and new places open the doors on a regular basis so there’s always something new to explore.

And did you know De Pijp is also great for shopping? Most shops are located around the trendy Gerard Doustraat, Van Woustraat and the Ferdinand Bolstraat. Here you find may boutiques selling homeware and fashionable items.
