LERA Matcha Amsterdam is a hotspot we haven’t had in our capital yet. That’s why we’re delighted that this new place, from the same owners as the co-working space Venu, has opened in De Pijp. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most stylish additions to Amsterdam.
Pay a visit to Lera Matcha Amsterdam
The Japanese matcha craze has now taken over our country – particularly Amsterdam. Here’s a brief explanation for those wondering; ‘what is matcha?‘. Matcha is a green tea from Japan, but its origins can be traced back to China. The vibrant green substance – sold in powder form – is praised for its high levels of antioxidants. The powder is made from steamed and dried green tea leaves. In Japan, matcha tea is generally consumed with hot water, but the matcha latte is prevalent in our country. It is a classic latte, but it is served with matcha instead of coffee. However, don’t be misled by it being a type of tea because a large cup of matcha contains caffeine – and you’ll notice it! At LERA, matcha takes centre stage, but you’ll also find satisfaction here for those who prefer coffee.
Interior Lera
Can we have a moment to look at LERA’s interior? According to the owners, LERA is a design-driven space. And it’s evident: the interior not only complements the green beverages but also features stylish stainless steel furniture. In the shelving units, you’ll also find some very nice goodies, such as notebooks and other knickknacks. Believe us: whether you’re a matcha lover or not, it’s difficult to leave this place empty-handed.

The unique flavours of Lera Matcha Amsterdam
LERA Matcha is a special place to hold dear, if only for its interior. Their unique menu reflects this. Alongside various types of matcha (also available for purchase so you can experiment at home), they serve high-quality speciality coffee crafted by experienced baristas.
Then there are the pastries—they’re irresistibly good. How about matcha-vanilla cheesecake, matcha madeleines, chocolates, and their marble matcha cake? In short, go there with a hearty appetite and a need for a caffeine boost, and you’ll leave satisfied.
