Café Baskèts Amsterdam: the new hotspot in De Pijp for locals

Baskèts has been a household name in Amsterdam and beyond for years. The clothing store is a paradise for fans of (exclusive) sneakers and streetwear. To give something back to the neighbourhood and loyal customers, the owner decided to add an extra dimension to Baskèts. Introducing Café Baskèts Amsterdam – where you can enjoy good coffee, pastries, and freshly made sandwiches all day.

New in De Pijp: Café Baskèts Amsterdam

In addition to being a unique store popular with people of all ages, the owner wanted to give something back to the neighbourhood: to create a place where people can come together, enjoy a peaceful moment amidst the bustling Amsterdam Pijp, or settle in for a (quick) lunch. Owner Daan de Greef aims to foster a sense of community by providing a nice hangout spot and introducing membership cards. With these, you can earn points for a free coffee, for example.

Of course, shopping can still be done on the side, but people who never visit Baskèts are warmly welcomed too. At the back of the space, there’s a large dining table with a fruit basket, inviting people to sit down and relax. The stainless steel kitchen island – sourced from an old Italian ship – immediately catches the eye; it’s clear that much thought has gone into this concept.

Menu Café Baskèts Amsterdam

In addition to serving great coffee (from Lot61) and soft drinks, Café Baskèts Amsterdam strongly emphasises quality daytime food. The Japanese milk bread from Bakkerij Kaandorp is a real hit. There are creatively topped sandwiches (artichoke, BLTC, smoked salmon, and more), unique fresh juices (the samba, featuring pear, banana, ginger, and lime, is a success), and pastries and croissants. The new Café Baskèts is a beautiful addition to Amsterdam – a café like this was even missing in De Pijp until now.
