BagelBoy Amsterdam: this is the new hotspot of De Pijp

Anyone who has visited New York, knows you won’t taste bagels anywhere else like they have them over there. Until now! BagelBoy Amsterdam has opened its doors in De Pijp. Even more exciting is that those who love bagels can also buy merchandise at this hotspot.

Why you want to pay BagelBoy Amsterdam a visit

Aside from Flo’s Deli, our capital city didn’t have perfect lunch spots centred entirely around bagels. And that’s a shame because, as Americans know, little compares to a delicious bagel. With its long queues and consistently sold-out status every day, Flo’s is a testament to that. So, it was time for a new establishment with a different concept. Allow me to introduce BagelBoy, the brand-new bagel destination in the heart of the De Pijp area. Admittedly, nowhere else in Amsterdam will you find bagels that closely resemble their original counterparts in the United States – and that alone is reason enough to visit this stylish new establishment.

Menu BagelBoy Amsterdam

They refer to their bagels as Amsterdam style rather than New York-style, preferring not to compete with the OG. Owner Lars Tibben opened his first food establishment featuring these “Amsterdam bagels” just over two weeks ago. His son came up with the logo, which has proven to be a recognizable hit. In April, they travelled together to the American capital, where they enjoyed bagels every day, and upon returning to the Netherlands, they craved more. And so it came to pass: their bagel shop is now a reality.

As for the menu at BagelBoy Amsterdam, it doesn’t disappoint either. BagelBoy Amsterdam offers classic bagels such as those with cream cheese and salmon, bacon, egg, and cheese (an American classic), and their creation, “rip & dip” – a plain bagel served with a pot of cream cheese topped with crispy chilli oil for dipping. And believe us: that’s reason enough to hold this place dear to your heart.
