These are the streets in Aarhus you must visit for shopping!
Aarhus is totally hip and happening. Not only are there a growing number of hotspots and food markets popping up in the city, but charming boutiques and concept stores are also gaining ground. For Your Little Black Book, we went in search of the best places to spend our money. You'll find brands from the larger chains like H&M and Monki in Søndergade, which is comparable to Amsterdam's Kalverstraat. But the Latin Quarter—with the grand basilica at its heart—is also packed with well-known shops.
Much nicer are of course the smaller boutiques, which you will find in various narrow streets.
- In the Latin Quarter, which stretches from Rosensgade to Klostergade, with the cathedral as its radiant centerpiece, you'll find the perfect mix of large department stores and small boutiques. Scandinavian brands like Monki, H&M, Sostrene Grene, and COS predominate, but you'll also find charming boutiques tucked away in the many side streets.
- One such side street with charming, unique boutiques is Vestergade. Don't be misled by the large H&M on the corner when you enter this street, because behind it you'll find a few delightful little shopping paradises. On the corner, you'll find a candy store Horlyck, with only beautiful, stylish (and rather pricey) shoes. Enter at your own risk!
- Another must-see shopping street is Volden. Besides small shops like Marc Jacobs and Won Hundred, you'll also find boutiques with unique collections. If you want to complete your shopping spree, this street is a must-see.
- Besides the larger department stores and small boutiques, Aarhus also boasts the flagships of many Scandinavian brands. Rains, which you'll likely recognize from its immensely popular raincoats, has a super cool concept store, and the &Other Stories store on Klostertorvet is also highly recommended. Everything is so beautiful here!
