Plenty to do during a city trip in Aarhus!
Aarhus is the perfect city for a city break. It's not too big, and the river that flows through it makes it well-organized and easy to find your way around. The old city center is wonderful for strolling, shopping, and enjoying a coffee. The surrounding area is also worth exploring. Because the city is small, you can easily explore it in a three-day city break. But if you have more time, it's also fun to take various trips from Aarhus, such as hiking or relaxing on the beaches in the summer. Aarhus feels a bit like Hamburg in Denmark. - Take a walk around DOKK1. This is the new, modern building housing the library and the municipal office, and it also has all sorts of cool artwork hidden outside.
- Rent a bike and cycle along the coastline into the woods. With a little luck, you'll spot deer and other wildlife!
- Be sure to cycle past Marselisborg Palace, the Danish Queen's holiday home.
- Visit the ARoS Art Museum with its rainbow panorama.
- Stroll along the famous Møllestien Street. Here you'll see old, colorful Danish houses.
- Shopping in the Latin Quarter! Scandinavian brands like Sostrene Grene, COS, and Monki are well represented here.
- Visit the Moesgaard Museum, nestled in the woods. Here you'll learn all about the Vikings who founded Aarhus.
- Enjoy a delicious drink at one of the two food markets. For a quick bite, Aarhus Street Food is a good option, while for a more extensive drink, Aarhus Food Market the place where you want to be.
- Spot "The Iceberg" in the Aarhus Ø district. This is a new neighborhood full of innovative architecture.
- Enjoy a lovely walk through the botanical gardens at the top of the hill of Den Gamle By.
