Over a month ago, Kim’s So Korean Fusion Amsterdam opened its doors in Amsterdam East. At this new establishment (their second spot, the first being Kim’s So Korean Food in Chinatown), they serve Korean food with a modern twist: dishes that blend Korean and international cuisine.
Why you want to experience the unique cuisine of Kim’s So Korean Fusion Amsterdam
Owner Wendy Yu is only 23 years old and started the new restaurant with a couple of family members. At age fifteen, she moved from China to the Netherlands and studied at the Hotelschool in The Hague. There, she learned the ins and outs of the industry – and quickly developed a taste for it. She became fascinated by Korea (partly thanks to K-pop) and visited the country multiple times. A lack of good Korean restaurants in our capital city led her to take matters into her own hands. And it turned out to be such a success that her second establishment is now a reality.
Menu Kim’s So Korean Fusion
As simple as the interior of Kim’s So Korean Fusion Amsterdam may be, the dishes are truly exceptional. Each course looks like a party on your plate. Moreover, please leave it to the chefs to bring together extraordinary flavours: they serve spaghetti with a creamy sriracha sauce, beef bulgogi on Mexican tortillas, and an unmistakable Korean classic: Royal Seafood Tteokbokki. Despite the ‘modern’ international dishes sounding uncommon at first glance, they are worth a try. We guarantee you: you’ve never tasted dishes like these before – and that’s a shame.
