You probably follow Your Little Black Book to be the first to know about new restaurants that open. Sometimes, we know that something is coming, but there is almost nothing known about the concept, the menu, or the interior, and there is only a logo on an Instagram page to see. Sometimes, we actually do know a lot about what’s happening, and we know the chefs or the team, but there is no exact opening date yet. In any case, we don’t want to deprive you of the scoop at the coffee machine at work, so we will tell you here all year about restaurants that will open their doors soon in Amsterdam. Enjoy reading what you can look forward to!

 | TIP: Which restaurants in Amsterdam have just opened this year? You can read that in this long list!

New culinary addresses and restaurants in Amsterdam that will open soon

Fans of Auberge can sleep with peace of mind again because this popular restaurant will open its doors again on March 1. This time, it was with the help of star chef Richard van Oostenbrugge, who you know from Restaurant 212, De Juwelier, and Bistro de la Mer. In September 2023, the owners of star store Auberge announced their bankruptcy; they could no longer close the financial gap caused by the pandemic. Oostenbrugge and the owners will breathe new life into Auberge with the quality and expertise you are used to.
Albert Cuypstraat 58-60, Amsterdam,

Like Auberge, Vanderveen has also been in dire straits since the pandemic. Several businesses led to them closing their doors in May 2023 – shortly after receiving a Michelin star. It was a painful period, which fortunately is coming to an end. You get it: Vanderveen is coming back! After several worldwide pop-ups, they return to Amsterdam. Not much is known yet, but for those who cannot wait for the reopening, there will be a  cooking mashup by Vanderveen’s chef.

Where Café Cliché used to be, NOVI is now located by the same owners as Kop van Oost. Novi Stradamezzo is already being called ‘the Italian living room of Watergraafsmeer’, and the restaurant is expected to focus on Italian comfort food and classic dishes passed down from generation to generation.
Middenweg 35, Amsterdam,

Anyone who has visited New York knows you will not taste such bagels anywhere else. Until now, because BagelBoy will soon open its doors in De Pijp. Extra fun: if you love bagels, you can order merchandise beforehand.
Albert Cuypstraat 190, Amsterdam,

Alex + Pinard

The new Alex + Pinard will open its doors in March. The focus will be on Ukrainian cuisine, with their “Ukrainian Pop-Up”. The restaurant will initially start as a pop-up restaurant for two months. A place where you can go for both lunch and dinner. Extra fun: A market stall will be in front of the restaurant where traditional Ukrainian snacks and dishes will be sold to-go. There is also Ukrainian art on the wall, which the restaurant sells. You can already make a reservation now; they will open their doors on March 2.
Dapperstraat 10, Amsterdam,

Ferry Amsterdam

What you previously knew as Pont 13 will open its doors in April as Ferry Amsterdam. Until then, the converted boat is available for parties and celebrations. And we have to say: the first images of the food look promising…

NNEA next door

nNea enthusiasts, pay attention! From now on, nNea’s great dishes and pizzas will also be available via nNea Next Door – their brand-new takeaway concept. That means pizzas of the highest quality, but right at your home. Did you know that nNea is known worldwide? The restaurant is at number 9 in the global top 50 best pizzerias.
Bilderdijkstraat 92, Amsterdam,

Café Wu

You know Chef Timo de Beurs from Slagerij de Beurs, once founded by his grandfather. The butcher’s shop is closing, but a new Timo’s restaurant will take place – on Dapperstraat, to be precise. What we know so far about this new hotspot in Amsterdam East is not much, but it is clear that Chef Timo is working hard behind the scenes. On his Instagram, he shared a small sneak preview of the future menu, which features several chic dishes. This bodes well from red mullet in oyster sauce to sui mai with lango tartare.
Dapperstraat 10, Amsterdam

Lof de Wijnwinkel

The owners of Zoldering received so many questions about their excellent wine range that they decided to dedicate an entire store to it. And so Lof de Wijnwinkel recently opened its doors on the Haarlemmerdijk. At Lof, you will find some of the range they serve at Zoldering and unique bottles they purchased from farmers in France.

Bennie’s Amsterdam

After the incredible success of several pop-ups, Bennie’s opens its doors for good. The location where their last pop-up was located will now be their permanent location but after a minor renovation. The restaurant will reopen in March in the Schinkel district, near the popular Multipla.
Helikopterstraat 28, Amsterdam,

Rumour has it… Gitane #2?

We certainly don’t want to make you happy with nothing, but our hearts will jump if this news is true. Reservations at Gitane are virtually impossible unless you plan ahead for months. Anyone who isn’t into that can hardly go to this Mediterranean restaurant. It is, therefore, possible that there will be a second location. Keep an eye on this article for updates… For now you can go to Gitane on Jan Pieter Heijestraat.
Jan Pieter Heijestraat 146, Amsterdam,

Wagyu Kanata

At Wagyu Kanata, now renowned in Buitenveldert, you savour the juiciest meat – Wagyu, as the name suggests. Following their resounding success in the southernmost part of Amsterdam, they settle in a very central location: just a stone’s throw away from the Rijksmuseum.
Weteringschans, Amsterdam,

Great news for everyone who loves good matcha and juicy sandwiches but is not interested in a TikTok cue, Chun will open a second business in the spring of 2024. Little is known about the new location and what it will entail, but in the context of never changing a winning team, we expect more matcha, the same beautiful interior and an equally excellent menu. Now, let’s hope the lines are a little shorter.

BADHUIS Amsterdam

Javaplein in Amsterdam East will soon have a new hotspot. After a thorough renovation, Badhuis Amsterdam will open its doors in January 2024. Expect a modern restaurant where you have come to the right place for coffee, brunch, drinks, and all-day dining.

Miznon Amsterdam

After locations in London, Barcelona, Paris, Melbourne, and many other cities, Miznon finally settled in Amsterdam. Soon, you will be able to enjoy fresh Israeli street food, resulting in the most special flavors, at Ferdinand Bolstraat 16.

Petit Caron moves

Petit Caron says goodbye to Gerard Doustraat but does not close its doors for good. This now famous restaurant will soon move to a new location, not much further away. To be precise, it will be on the Frans Halsstraat. Expect a similar menu to what you are used to from the French restaurant, packed with classics and your interpretations of French dishes.
Frans Halsstraat 28, Amsterdam,

Otemba Gyoza Bar

After their enormous success on the Kinkerstraat in Amsterdam-West, Otemba opened a second restaurant focused on gyoza. At Otemba Ramen, you especially enjoy – as the name suggests – excellent ramen, and Otemba Gyoza, as a little sister, will focus on gyoza. And that bodes well, because the gyoza already on the menu at the Kinkerstraat location leaves you wanting more. The new Otemba will open its doors at the end of 2023.
Van Woustraat 15, Amsterdam,

Kokomo Amsterdam

Among the new buildings in Zeeburg, you will find Kokomo, a piece of greenery in the middle of all the brand-new houses. This place will be all about good vibrations, and it will be an all-day hangout. A large terrace, outdoor bar, and a large indoor area make you feel like you’re outside the city for a moment, but nothing could be further from the truth… Kokomo will open its doors in the spring of 2024.
