Coba Taqueria Amsterdam closes when everything is finished

Very good news for everybody who loves Mexican food! In Amsterdam North just opened a real taqueria  where you can order different tacos ánd grasshoppers. You can find this new Mexican spot, Coba Taqueria Amsterdam, in the Schaafstraat in North, behind Hotel de Goudfazant and a few doors next to FC Hyena. Owner Mirthe van der Schoot loves, loves, loves  the Mexican cuisine and couldn’t wait to open Coba Taqueria, named after the old Mayan town Cobá in Mexico.

Together with chef Joachim de Buck (no family ;-)) they are now serving tacos. Exactly what we like. What to get at Coba Taqueria Amsterdam? Order for example the stuffed Tacos Canasta (three different tacos, served a nice basket), Tacos Al Pastor (tortillas filled with pork attorney, pineapple with a marinade of achiote and a little bit of chili) or the Tostadas. Tip: don’t forget to order a fresh tropical pineapple or watermelon juice. You’ll feel like you’re in Mexico right away!

Order the cocktail Mescal at Coba Taqueria Amsterdam

Do you want to go all out and really eat like a Mexican? Order the Mescal, a cocktail with watermelon with chili powder, orange with worm salt and a grasshopper. Yes really! Eating insects is completely normal in Mexico, so also at Coba Taqueria.

Nice: This Mexican spot closes its doors when everything is empty, including the grasshoppers. So don’t make it too late for them, try one! Btw, the interior really makes us think of Mexico. The room is filled with flowers and plants, has yellow accents, a concrete floor, brown wooden chairs and a long bar to enjoy a long evening.
