Are you a big fan of natural wine? Then you’ll be thrilled to visit Bottleshop. Located on Wibautstraat, this place offers a large selection of natural wines and accompanying snacks that will make any hospitality enthusiast’s heart beat faster. In short, this new wine bar in Amsterdam East is where you want to be.
Bottleshop Amsterdam-Oost
In addition to Alex+Pinard, Amsterdam East has attracted another wonderful wine bar. The founders, Freek Kattenberg, Niels Vermeer, and chef Janneau Torres Peralta, aim to create a destination for the best wines, complimentary snacks, and small dishes. As a result, this place offers a delightful combination of high-quality, exceptional dishes that enhance the allure and flavors of the wines. Freek Kattenberg, only 24 years old, has always dreamt of opening a wine-focused hospitality establishment. This became challenging during the pandemic, so he started Sec Wines, a wine importer with two stores. When the pandemic ended, he wasted no time searching for a suitable location and partners to fulfil his dream. And they will also be doing pop-ups on the top floor, so keep an eye out for that!

Wijnkaart Bottleshop
Know what you’re getting yourself into, because the wine menu at Bottleshop is enormous. They refer to their Bottle List as “conventionally incorrect,” but fortunately, the staff can provide more explanations. In addition to sake, cider, beer, and champagne, you’ll browse through endless pages of wine, each one better than the other. The beer is also served in 75cl flexes. Sparkling wines start from €40 per bottle (such as a 2020 Riesling), orange wines start at €47, and the most expensive is €116. It is safe to say that there’s something for everyone.

Interior Bottleshop
Upon entering, it immediately catches your attention: significant attention has been given to the interior here. The light wood contrasts elegantly with the concrete walls. Combined with earthy tones, the space creates a warm impression. Based on space and reservations, guests are welcomed at the bar or at small tables. It’s recommended to reserve in advance to secure a spot (especially a must on weekends), but they also accommodate spontaneous planners: they always keep a few tables available.
