Restaurant Moon

Nowhere offers such a breathtaking view as Restaurant Moon in the A’DAM Tower. Extra fun: the restaurant rotates, so your view is constantly changing. Since the restaurant is on the 19th floor, it would be a shame if you didn’t take in the 360˚ panoramic view. Therefore, this restaurant rotates once an hour. In addition to a spectacular view, you can enjoy high-quality food and drinks – another reason to visit this special place.

Okay, Helling7 may not have a true rooftop bar, but their huge terrace at a high altitude is no less impressive. Moreover, you can enjoy the best view of the water and the city. In my opinion, this is reason enough to take the ferry to Noord!

Soho House

Soho House requires a membership – or friends with a membership – but it’s worth it: where else can you find a rooftop swimming pool in Amsterdam? Granted, Soho House is not the only place with these facilities, but it’s a great place to be. They serve an extensive menu in the summer with sushi and light snacks. In winter, you can take a refreshing dip and enjoy the extraordinary view of the city while swimming.

Let’s be honest; you might have the best view in Amsterdam from the new rooftop bar, Luminair. LuminAir, The Bar Above Amsterdam, is an excellent spot for pre-dinner cocktails or a nightcap after dining in the heart of Amsterdam Centrum. LuminAir offers an escape from the bustling city below, drawing inspiration from Amsterdam’s energy, art, and ever-changing skies. I’m curious to see what’s on the menu this year and look forward to sunny moments at great heights. Expect modern and international bar bites perfect for day, night, and everything in between!

Amsterdam East gained a new rooftop bar last year. And what a gem it is! Fitz’s on the Roof is the chic rooftop bar at the beautiful Pillows Maurits at the Park. This rooftop in a stunning historic building opens in good weather for cocktails with a view. Enjoy bar bites from Fitz’s Bar on the rooftop. They’ll confirm opening times daily at 12 p.m. via their website. If they’re open, they welcome guests from Tuesday to Saturday from 3 p.m. and on Sundays from 2 p.m.!

This new rooftop bar and sky restaurant in Amsterdam opened in the summer of 2023. Selva and Sonora are located on the 24th floor of the Nhow hotel in Amsterdam South. What can you expect here? Latin American flavours, stunning views, a restaurant, and a cocktail bar. This rooftop is huge, spanning 700m2 for the ultimate summer feel, as if you’re in a global city like New York.

Near the Omval, Ventuno is the new sky lounge bar at the Ruby Emma hotel (formerly QO hotel). It’s a beautiful venue with international allure. Step into a world-city vibe where dinners flow seamlessly into club nights. Stay for post-dinner cocktails and views. The menu is Italian-American-inspired, and there’s live entertainment on weekends.

Hasta La Vista Baby

At “Hasta La Vista, Baby!” they combine the best of Spain and Portugal at great heights. This new sky bar and restaurant on the Zuid-As is located on the 19th floor of the (fairly new) INNSiDE by Meliá Amsterdam hotel. Dine and sip with breathtaking views from lunch to dinner, or enjoy a great cocktail at the bar.

This rooftop in East remains a favourite! Sunny weather on the way? Make sure to get there early as the rooftop is almost always full. Thanks to the laid-back vibe here, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy beers with friends at the wooden picnic tables.

On The Roof

On the roof of an industrial building in Amsterdam-North, you can once again attend the On the Roof festival this summer. We’ve been fans of this mini-festival for a few years now. While musicians from around the world perform, you can watch the sunset and dance. How fun! We hope events can resume at On The Roof soon. Unfortunately, the founder of On The Roof has passed away, and it’s not yet clear what will happen with the programming for 2024.

W Lounge

In the heart of Amsterdam, you can enjoy luxury all day long at this rooftop. We secretly love the evenings the most. Cocktails and heels come out, the lights dim, and you have a beautiful view from one of the best rooftops in Amsterdam. Bonus: there’s also a pool! But officially, it’s only for hotel guests.

Restaurant REM & Rooftopbar

Atop the REM Eiland is a panoramic rooftop where you can sit in the summer overlooking the IJ. Restaurant REM recently changed ownership, which is exactly why you’ll want to return soon. And if you’ve never been, let yourself be amazed by this unique place. The food is gourmet yet casual. Just fun, delicious, and without fuss.

Zoku Hotel

The Zoku Hotel has a cool urban vibe, reflected in its rooftop terrace. It’s a cosy spot to gather, surrounded by greenery. Fun fact: they grow vegetables in the rooftop greenhouses that they serve in the Living Kitchen! In the summer, this rooftop bar in Amsterdam also hosts small live concerts and other events.

A visit to the rooftop of the Nemo museum is a must! From 22 meters high, you have a fantastic view over the Oosterdok and the historic centre of Amsterdam. You’ll need to climb about 120 steps, but trust me: the view is worth it, and it’s free!
