Toni's Deli

Amsterdam

Toni’s Deli is the newest addition to Amsterdam West, and is already praised for their sandwiches

22 January 2024

Opened in September and a complete hit ever since: of course, we are talking about Toni’s Deli in Amsterdam West. This place offers the tastiest sandwiches (already famous), soups, and salads and is worth a detour. In short, it is the new lunch hotspot of Amsterdam West.

Why you want to visit Toni’s Deli

There is a good chance that you are familiar with the Mundi café on the Postjesweg. Just like the nearby restaurant Felperlaan. The common denominator? Mundi, Felperlaan, and the new Toni’s Deli have the same owners. As you would expect – with a coffee hotspot like Mundi – at Toni’s the coffee is strong, and the food is freshly prepared. The fact that a sandwich shop should be opened in this neighborhood was partly self-interest: the owners said they still missed a good hotspot for lunch in the Baarsjes.

Menu Toni’s Deli

As the name suggests, Toni’s sells more than just sandwiches: it is also a deli, including Italian delicacies. From natural wines to delicious olive oil (straight from Italy): Toni’s has everything you need. They found inspiration at Roscioli in Rome – a shop full of delicacies, including a display case with fresh snacks and several small tables spread throughout the shop. The sweetness and love for good food shine through, and you can hardly get more Italian than Roscioli. As expected, Toni’s has a similar atmosphere.

Furthermore, a significant role is reserved for the lunch menu, which contains soups, salads, and their acclaimed sandwiches. The sandwiches play the leading role, and you can taste why. They are anything but a sandwich you would make at home. Taste the flavors of Italy in the tuna salad sandwich with pickled pickles or the vegetarian caponata sandwich with Sicilian sauce, which is a favorite even among the most giant carnivores. If you’re not sold by now… Run, don’t walk!
