Wake up to a view of Manhattan's copper skyline
Oooh yes! The Hoxton Williamsburg New York is open. For those who know New York a little, this is good news, because this hotel is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in New York. If you've been following Your Little Black Book for a while, you know I'm a fan of The Hoxton Hotels. Not only in London, but also in my hometown, of course. Amsterdam and meanwhile in Paris, Chicago en Portland.
I've stayed in all the hotels on this street, but The Hoxton feels most like coming home.
The great thing about staying at The Hoxton in New York is that they've managed to attract locals again at this new location. The lobby is a magnet for hip New Yorkers who come for breakfast, lunch, drinks, or just to get some work done. I know of few hotels that manage this so well time and time again. You'll find The Hoxton New York in Williamsburg on the famous Wythe Avenue, which has transformed into a real hotel strip in recent years. I've stayed in all the hotels on this street, but The Hoxton feels most like coming home. And let's be honest: waking up with a view of the skyline of New York...who doesn't get happy from that?

During my last trip to New York , I stayed two nights at The Hoxton. There are different room types: standard and bigger, and you have the option of a room with a Brooklyn view or a Manhattan view. They differ slightly in price, but don't worry... you can of course just take that photo with the skyline on the hotel's rooftop. Thank me later for this tip! I stayed in a room at The Hoxton with a view of the skyline. Believe me, this is a lovely way to wake up. Especially because at The Hoxton you get a free mini Kickstarter breakfast that is hung on your door. You just have to hang the bag on your door yourself in the evening! At all The Hoxton hotels, you can also make a cup of coffee in your room. For me, a hotel immediately increases in value in that case. I really enjoy drinking coffee in bed while updating my Instagram. And then another cup while I'm getting ready for a day in the city!

The rooms are modern, rugged, and industrially decorated with lots of wood. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows, bed linens by Brooklyn-based designer Dusan Dusan (so soft!), and a bookshelf with a collection of books curated especially for this hotel. You can also make free international calls from your room. So, if you have a lover abroad… I'd say late-night calling is a good idea!
From breakfast to dinner at Klein's
Klein’s is located on the ground floor of The Hoxton . The restaurant serves an all-day menu and an additional menu specifically for dinner. This hotspot features a cozy bistro-style interior. The eye-catcher is the large bar, which is also a very pleasant place to sit for a drink or a light bite to eat. Incidentally, you can also order dishes from Klein's in the lobby and choose from a more compact menu. I did that, for example, for a late breakfast on the day of departure.
Of course, I also had dinner at Klein's one evening. For dinner, you can choose from sharing platters and a variety of delicious main courses, from Cacio e Pepe pasta to bavette and swordfish. As a side, Brussels sprouts are highly recommended! Be sure to grab a drink on the rooftop after dinner if the weather is nice. More on that below!

I mentioned it before: the rooftop bar! Unfortunately, it was closed when I was there in early November. Of course, a rooftop is always nicer in good weather anyway, so if you are in New York in the spring or summer, even if you aren't staying at the hotel, you'll want to have a drink here. Trust me! I've seen the photos of Summerly and it looks enchanting when the lights are on in the evening. On weekends, weather permitting, it's open from 12:00 PM for lunch with bites!
