Murmur AmsterdamNoord: sets itself apart from all other bars

Amsterdam Noord continues to gain in popularity, and Murmur Amsterdam is contributing significantly to that. When you approach the street, Murmur is practically invisible, which is a shame yet also kind of nice. This way, the place maintains its mystique, and you feel like you’re in some alternative speak-easy bar. And that’s how this relatively new bar has become one of the critical hotspots in Amsterdam-Noord.

Why you would want to visit Murmur

“Sometimes open on Thursdays” perfectly captures Murmur’s independence. Murmur Amsterdam is quirky, rugged, raw, refined, and alternative – just as you would expect from a bar/restaurant in Amsterdam-Noord, but with a twist. Walking in, you’re greeted by a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The interior is an eclectic mix without appearing cluttered. This place also describes itself as a ‘listening bar,’ a term that alludes to the numerous performances they host, often on Fridays and Saturdays and occasionally on Thursdays. When there’s no live music, the vinyl records take center stage.

Menu Murmur Amsterdam

Murmur’s menu is compact but offers everything you hope for without causing any decision anxiety. The dish of the week is variable, as the name suggests, and tends to be more substantial, while the other items are better categorized as snacks and small bites. The smoked almonds are crispy, the focaccia with olive oil is irresistible, and the Greek strawberry salad with feta is an absolute keeper. Enough reasons to visit Murmur Amsterdam.
