Summer vibes at these city beaches in Amsterdam

Roest: In Amsterdam East you should go to creative hotspots Roest. You will find i surrounded by old warehouses and factories. Gives Roest a cool rough atmosphere! And the vibe here is always relaxed and laid back. Here you sit down with a beer in your hand on a large wooden picnic table and with your feet in the sand.

Pllek: Here you have lunch while sitting at one of the colored picnic tables. Swim in the IJ, sunbathing is also allowed and listen to live music on the weekends. And don’t you think that taking the ferry to Amsterdam North already feels like a short holiday?

IJburg: For a day at the beach you go to the beach at IJburg. Escape the views, enjoy the sun, take a swim and just relax. You can now have a drink and nice food there at Japanner Strandeiland.

Strandzuid: Strandzuid has an amazing concept this summer: a city beaches combined with a German beer garden! So this is gonna be thé place to drink delicious (special) beers, to relax, have a snack or play a game of ping pong. And all of this while sitting at the water or on the city beach.

Sloterplas: {UPDATE – JUNE 2023 => the water in The Sloterplas is not of good quality this year. So DON’T swim in the Sloterplas in 2023 } Do you want to feel like you’re enjoying the sun on the other side of the Netherlands? At Sloterplas you can lie on the beach and enjoy water sports like kayakking or paddle boarding.

Gaasperplas: On the south side of the Gaasperpark you can find a lovely sandy beach. Do you want to end your day with a barbecue? It’s possible with the Gaasperplas, YES! By the way, it’s the perfect beach for a day of fun with the kids.
