Caffe Pico Amsterdam: immerse yourself in Rome for just a moment

Imagine yourself in Rome for a moment, but right in Amsterdam’s vibrant neighbourhood De Pijp. Believe us, at Caffe Pico Amsterdam, you’ll achieve it. Owner Dimi Bouscasse knows the ins and outs of the (Italian) hospitality industry all too well; he previously opened the successful Ceppi’s Trattoria (Centrum) and cult sandwich shop Zero Zero (Centrum and recently De Pijp). However, his first real hospitality experience was during the establishment of Café Panache. The newest addition is Caffe Pico, where you should go if you love authentic Roman cuisine.

INTERIOR OF CAFFE PICO

Only the fish is not Italian because that was impossible. Everything else comes from the food paradise of Europe. The interior of Caffe Pico adds an extra touch. Clean, minimalist, predominantly Italian, and with wooden folding chairs on the terrace. On top of that, as soon as you enter the restaurant, the smell of Italy hits you. Crispy dough, the highest-quality olive oil, and Italian herbs—a medley immediately transports you to Rome.

Menu Caffe Pico

Even the menu is a feast for the eyes, with stacked tomatoes that look so beautiful you want to frame them. At Caffe Pico, they exclusively serve authentic Italian dishes, with a focus on Rome and its surrounding areas. The only exception is the fish not sourced from Italy because quality precedes consistency. Whether you’re craving a thin-crust pizza (highly recommended!) or classic vongole pasta (also a must!), sirloin, or hamachi crudo, every dish at Caffe Pico Amsterdam is equally authentic and exceptional. The bread with delightful olive oil is simple yet effective, just like the tempura-fried zucchini – a delight for the taste buds and highly photogenic. And we haven’t even mentioned the extensive selection of Italian wines yet, as that alone is reason enough to visit Pico.
