I was recently asked about a nice restaurant near Carré, and I wish I'd known about Bistro Baret Amsterdam. This (not so) new restaurant fills that void perfectly. Fancy a tasty bite to eat before your theater visit? Then the fresh French dishes at Bistro Baret are the perfect start to a wonderful evening.
And although this Bistro has been open since late 2015, it's no wonder we're only just discovering it. Tucked away in a small street around the corner from Carré, I happened to cycle past it this week. A hidden gem, in French, of course. Brothers Dorus and Daan have completely transformed this small space into a true classic bistroBoth the menu and the interior provide a pleasant culture shock.
