Indulge extensively without having to dig too deep into your wallet. It might seem impossible in Amsterdam, but we underestimate our capital city with that statement. There are, in fact, numerous restaurants that offer a 3-course menu for under 40 euros, even in Amsterdam. We have selected the finest establishments to save you both the search effort and costs.

3-course menus under 40 euros in Amsterdam

They still exist: affordable restaurants in Amsterdam. And we’re not talking about fast-food chains or late-night snack bars. On the contrary, even some relatively high-end, trendy establishments offer a 3-course menu for under 40 euros in Amsterdam. From Café Beurre to La Parole and Chez Nina: you’re in the right place at these hot spots.

Café Beurre

Ah, Café Beurre! There’s little that compares to the exceptional dishes and excellent wines they serve at this restaurant in Amsterdam-West. The cozy and friendly atmosphere and the staff make you feel right at home. An additional bonus is, of course, the affordable 3-course menu.

The Barley Room

Everything comes from the barbecue at The Barley Room, without meat taking the spotlight. The Barley Room likes to do things differently and puts beer in the lead role. The 3-course menu (€35.5) is adjusted based on their fresh availability.

La Parole

At La Parole (Amsterdam West), you’ll momentarily feel like you’re in France. The wines are exclusively French, just like the decor and the rich array of classic dishes on the menu. Create your own menu or be surprised by the chef’s selections.

Bambino Bar

Admittedly, Bambino Bar is a bit of an outlier on this list. An officially composed four-course menu costs €48 (still very affordable, in our opinion), but if you put together your own selection, you can easily stay under €40 per person. With this unique concept, the owners of BAK Restaurant have established an establishment that Amsterdam was still missing. So, it’s worth a visit.

Chez Nina

Chez Nina is a big favorite in Amsterdam West and beyond. You can indulge in an extensive 10-course menu for €55 per person, but for the smaller version – consisting of six courses – you’ll only spend €38 per person. The menu changes daily and mainly features dishes where vegetables are the lead.

Restaurant Alba

Restaurant Alba is a classic in Amsterdam-Oost: we’ve been fond of it for years. You can enjoy a 3-course menu there for €39.50. The accompanying wines are a must and worth spending a little extra on.

Bar Baut

Bar Baut is known for its refined dishes, which you can order à la carte or as part of a menu. For a 3-course menu, you’ll pay €41, but we’re happy to overlook that. Prefer to order on your own? Then the grilled seabream is a good choice.

Madre

Madre on Westerstraat is not only vegan but also affordable. For €41.5, you can enjoy an extensive chef’s choice menu with a wide range of Mexican delights. In short, this is the place to be if you’re looking for an affordable 3-course menu in Amsterdam.
