Trees Amsterdam: the new hotspot for drinks and dinner in the heart of the city center

Hospitality moguls Amadou Dia and Géza Weisz have again joined forces for an original concept. Meet Trees Amsterdam, a new bar slash restaurant on the Zeedijk.

Why you want to put Trees Amsterdam on your bucket list

Trees Amsterdam is precisely the kind of place that our capital was missing. It is a place with a relaxed vibe, a pleasant atmosphere, and a menu to die for. The interior is cosy and dark and feels like a second home. It resembles Gertrude (also created by Amadou and Géza) in some ways, but in a different guise. The tableware and cutlery sets are slightly mismatched and come from Tableware Amsterdam – a mecca for lovers of vintage, silver, and glassware. On Instagram, Trees announces that they look forward to making a ‘fun mess’ with their guests.

Menu Trees Amsterdam

Chef Doudou, or Amadou Dia, has been cooking from the start at Gertrude, which is also run by this duo. His recipes are in great demand; his famous rockfish recipe was recently published in Vogue Living – under slight pressure from business partner Géza Weisz – and he was one of the most popular home chefs during the pandemic. Fortunately, you can now enjoy his cooking almost daily: dine at Trees from Tuesday to Saturday and have lunch from Wednesday to Sunday. Take an evening out for dinner: at Trees, you can choose a four- to six-course menu. The menu stems from availability but is based on your wishes. Sometimes, they add one or two more courses, depending on what is available.

Regarding lunch, you also adapt to the available ingredients and the chef’s experiments. From Wednesday to Sunday, they serve tasty, homemade brioches at Trees, with varying (and surprising!) toppings.
