Do you like crispy chicken but prefer not to go to the average fast-food chain? Then KID Amsterdam is the place for you. Not only does this restaurant serve the most delicious fried chicken in our capital city, but they are also a true Instagram and TikTok sensation. Discover fried chicken as you have never had before.

KID Amsterdam

KID stands for Kip ‘n Drip, but they have since put that longer name behind them. KID sounds short and powerful and gives a more luxurious feel. Owners Joshua Styns, Kayu Li, and Steven Mamahit had zero experience in the restaurant industry when they started their successful restaurant in 2020, although Joshua’s love for hospitality was passed down through his family (his grandfather owned an Indonesian restaurant on the Bloemenmarkt). During the lockdowns, the concept started not as a restaurant but as a pop-up to bring people together safely – in Steven’s garden, to be precise. It became such a resounding success that pop-up shops quickly followed, leading to a permanent spot for KID on the Ruysdaelkade.

The interior of KID is minimalist, old Amsterdam style, yet modern, but above all, cozy. The owners believe in “good vibes, food, and good company” and succeeded because KID has everything.

Menu KID Amsterdam

The menu of KID can best be described as a fusion of Asian and European cuisines. It includes elements inspired by their Indonesian-Chinese family recipes but with a European twist. However, even those not fond of chicken will find something they like at this restaurant. The barbecue cabbage is a resounding success, just like their unique yet simple cocktails. A must-go for anyone fond of chicken.

You can visit KID from 5:30 PM onwards from Thursday to Sunday for snacks, dinner, and drinks.
