We recently published our guide with 23 hotspots in Amsterdam North that you shouldn't miss, but we can add another one to the list. Namely Hangar Amsterdam: a new restaurant in Amsterdam North. The restaurant is built in an old hangar and looks fantastic. And that's not surprising: the restaurant was founded by Tim Immers (who Bar MustacheThe industrial and raw character of the North meets the warmth of the Southern European dishes on the menu.

Hangar's Instagram page served as a mood board for the opening. Styling expert Stella Willing (who designs beautiful collectible collections for Scotch, among other things) is behind it. Our expectations were met. A bit brown, a bit green, a bit tropical! Tropical meets industrial, so to speak. The corrugated iron sheets adorning the hangar are hung in a beautiful patchwork pattern of brown and green hues.

What's on the menu? They cook seasonally, so you always get the freshest and most flavorful ingredients on your plate. The pure flavors are reminiscent of French and Italian cuisine, but with North African elements. Doesn't that get you going? We're especially excited to try the risotto with chanterelles, Parmesan, and anise. Enjoy your time in Noord!
