5 X green hotspots in Amsterdam to relax

Amsterdam West garden: Imagine… a community garden in Amsterdam West surrounded by apartments. With a picking garden, garden café, tea garden, workshops and more. A great example of urban farming in Amsterdam!

Schellingwouderpark: Do you want to go somewhere other than the Amsterdam Forest? In Amsterdam North you will find the Schellingwouderpark on the banks of the IJ. You will find this park between the Orange Locks and the Oranjewerf.

The Hortus Botanicus: Near Waterloo Square is museum De Hortus Botanicus. A place where every Amsterdammer should have been at least once. I think the cactus garden is crazy! But it also is a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of coffee surrounded by the most beautiful plants, flowers and trees.

Fruit garden of West: The Fruit Garden of West is not just a garden, but an orchard where you can pick up fruits of the season yourself, pick freshly laid eggs or just enjoy nature in Amsterdam Nieuw West.

Flevopark: My personal discovery when I was looking for a park during the lockdown to avoid the crowds, but still get a breath of fresh air. Now we regularly go there on weekends for a walk! Also nice with kids, because they have a good playground and it’s a location of the Nature Playground Youth Land.
