Do you like italian food? Di bruno is a must visit!
Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and the way the owner welcomes you tells you that this won’t be your only visit to this place. I love the Italian hospitality, the kindness and the shared enthusiasm about good food. When you go to Di Bruno on the Willemsparkweg in Amsterdam Old South for dinner, you know you will be back here again. Don’t expect a hotspot, but a classical Italian restaurant where everything is about food. Really good food! And home made as much as possible. While you’re still having a look on the menu, the first amuses of the house will arrive at your table. A nice start of the evening!
The menu at Di Bruno is full of Italian classics from different districts all over the country. Each day there is a varying antipasti, primi and secondi. As a starter I had the coquilles in pecorino sauce with raw zucchini and mint. So tasty! My love had the grilled asparagus with fresh truffle and pancetta. Also a nice recommendation. For a primi there are a variety of pastas on the menu from ravioli to risotto. We will try those next time! Instead we share the carpaccio of beetroot with gorgonzola as primi. I don’t want to sound boring, but also this was delicious. There are so many delicious looking mains on the menu at Di Bruno, it’s hard to choose. The scallopina in salsa of lime and thyme is to die for. Just like the beef tenderloin in a Barolo-wine sauce with truffle. With a primitivo on the side. Great combo! We finish off with a scroppino made at our table.
From now on Di Bruno is on my shortlist of good Italian restaurants in Amsterdam. We will come back here for sure!
