Café Wu Amsterdam is the brand new hotspot in Amsterdam East on your bucketlist. It is not without reason that the place is already fully booked for the time being. Owner Timo de Beurs (formerly Slagerij de Beurs) immediately scores points with his Wu. To the East we go!

Why you want to put Café Wu on your bucketlist

On the corner of Dapperstraat in Amsterdam East, you will now find Café Wu Amsterdam – a nice, modern restaurant with Chinese and French influences. You can know Timo de Beurs from his pop-up restaurant in BAUT or his former business, Slagerij de Beurs. De Beurs is known for its great pate-en-route and is now exploring Chinese culture and cuisine with his new Café Wu.

Café Wu Menu

Café Wu is a Chinese restaurant unlike any other in The Netherlands. The concept of Wu is more high-end than you might expect from a Chinese hotspot. Imagine smaller dishes, served as in a star restaurant and made with the highest quality ingredients. At Café Wu, you can eat high-class food with matching wines. The wine menu, curated by Chi Ling Wu and Enoteca Sprezzatura (an importer of sparkling and pure wines), contains Italian, German and French wines.

Wu is described as ‘The House of Five Tastes‘ – at Wu, you dine with a fixed five-course menu or choose your dishes from a concise à la carte menu. The dishes vary from classic Chinese to courses with European influences and flavours. And if that isn’t enough reason to visit the Dapperstraat, music also plays an important role – from vinyl to tape, provided from the audio bar. In short, it is a place like no other and an extra reason to explore Amsterdam East.
