ACE Amsterdam: a restaurant for and by Amsterdammers

11 December 2017

at ace amsterdam you can enjoy amsterdam dishes

YES! ACE Amsterdam has finally opened it’s doors on the Utrechtsestraat. Expect a pure Amsterdam no-nonsense restaurant, with a focus on Amsterdam and its inhabitants. The new restaurant looks like a cosy Amsterdam neighbourhood pub, but just a little bit more hip. If you ask us the Utrechtsestraat needed a new restaurant like ACE Amsterdam!

Also in terms of food, the kitchen is inspired by the city and its inhabitants. Local products are used for the typical Amsterdam-style dishes, with a French-classic inspired kitchen as the basis and sometimes with a worldly, exotic taste. The food is about honesty. No hassle because it works so well on Instagram (although the photo below looks pretty Insta-worthy ;-)): at ACE it’s all about the taste.

ACE Amsterdam

Fun fact: owner and chef Rik Thesing started his career once in the same place where he now opens his own restaurant. He started here as a student cook at ‘t Fornuis. He then learned the tricks of the trade from Menno Post at Ron Blaauw and De Bokkedoorns. So that promises something ;-)

The coming weeks we can go to ACE Amsterdam for a changing three- to six-course menu from € 38, -. Keep an eye on our Instagram stories / wall for our coming soon report!
