Almost every lover of Spain is familiar with 100 Montaditos – a classic sandwich shop that is praised by locals and tourists. The doors of 100 Montaditos Amsterdam have luckily opened, and as expected, the business is super booming.

Why you want to visit 100 Montaditos Amsterdam

100 Montaditos Amsterdam is not just any sandwich shop. A little history lesson shows that this chain started in 2000 with one store on the beach of Islantilla, Spain. The concept was simple, but innovative for its time. Freshly baked rolls, a choice of a hundred high-quality toppings (how about Spanish hams and cheeses?), and Spanish pinchos. You wait for your order while enjoying a beer or glass of wine.

The chain’s founder, José María Capitán, is from Seville, and 100 Montaditos is also a big hit in that city. And even though it originated in a small village, the chain is now known and loved worldwide.

Menu 100 Montaditos Amsterdam

The next question arises: what is on the menu of 100 Montaditos Amsterdam? As the name suggests, you can choose from a hundred different sandwiches daily. On Sundays and Wednesdays, they have offers: you can score a unique selection of one hundred sandwiches for €2 each. On the other days, you don’t have to dig much deeper into your pockets; the sandwiches cost between €2.20 and €3 each.

International favorites include the Spanish omelet with mayo, brava sauce, or aioli, the sandwich with chicken, caramelized onion and honey mustard sauce, pork tenderloin, and the one with vegan chicken and pesto. The MontyBurgers are also popular and only cost €3. Whatever you think of it, you can order it from this store. From a classic with Gouda cheese to a burger with triple meat: a hamburger, pulled pork, and bacon. So anyone with a big appetite will want to go here. Amsterdam did not yet have a budget-proof sandwich shop like this; for that reason alone, it is an excellent addition to the capital.
