The Walrus & The Carpenter Amsterdam: new bar in East

7 March 2017

Lots of new hotspots are opening their doors in Amsterdam East, like The Walrus & The Carpenter. Recently we went there for an extensive tasting and my-oh-my, it made is very happy. Firstly because this new seafood bar on the Javastraat gives me the feeling of being in Williamsburg in New York, and secondly because the food is so good. The menu is full of the au fruit de mer and the tastiest seafood, and extra nice: you can order the platters warm or cold. The interior of The Walrus & The Carpenter is warm and cosy. Lots of wood, funny details that point to the seafood concept, and pretty blue details.

The Walrus & The Carpenter Amsterdam

Did we already mention that this hotspot is the newest brother of The Walter Woodbury Bar and Bar James? The three can actually be described at the bermuda triangle of the Javastraat, because The Walrus & The Carpenter is located directly next to Walter’s. And with Bar James across from them.. You know it’s going to be great ;-).
Just like the other two spots, you can go to The Walrus The Carpenter for lunch, drinks with a plate of oysters, or delicious seafood dishes in the evening. We can tell that the au fruit de mer platters are quite popular by looking around us.

The address of The Walrus & The Carpenter is Javastraat 40.
