There’s nothing better than strolling through the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt on a sunny Saturday morning. In addition to fresh cheese, artisanal bread, and wildflowers, these neighboring markets are also known for something important: delicious snacks. Because amidst all the Saturday hustle and bustle, you can sometimes lose track, here’s an overview of the best snacks at the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt.

Snacks at Lindengracht- en Noordermarkt

Visit the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt market for your weekly groceries, and you’ll undoubtedly return home with a full stomach. Relax on one of the nearby terraces or indulge in the numerous snacks the markets offer—time for an overview.

Apple pie at Café Winkel 43 – Noordermarkt

Admittedly, Café Winkel 43 on the Noordermarkt doesn’t fit the bill. However, it can’t be left out of the list of the best snacks on the Noordermarkt market because the apple pie from this place is world-renowned for a reason. You’ll often encounter a line on Saturdays and Mondays, but it’s quieter on other days of the week. Don’t be discouraged by the wait times because once you’ve experienced their apple pie, you’ll never want anything else.

fresh oysters at Goede Vissers – Noordermarkt

Eating oysters while standing, is there anything that brings a better holiday feeling than that? We think not, especially when you get your hands on the fresh ones from Goede Vissers at the Noordermarkt.

Pork belly sandwich at Mr. Brasa – Lindengracht

For those who love pork, Mr. Brasa is the place to be. At the Lindengracht market, you can taste their famous and generously filled pork belly sandwich. If you don’t have time for the Lindengracht, you can also find them at the IJburg-Reuring market (IJburg), Westergas-Sunday market (Westerpark), and the MuseumMarket (Museumplein).

Satay at Saté Bar Charley – Lindengracht

Saté Bar Charley is the destination for fresh satay on the Lindengracht. You’ll feel like you’re in a real Indonesian restaurant.

Sabich sandwich at Abu Salie – Noordermarkt

On the Noordermarkt, Abu Salie is a delight for your taste buds. The Sabich sandwich consistently leads to long lines, which are worth joining. This acclaimed sandwich is generously filled with tahini, eggplant, egg, cilantro, cucumber, tomato, onion, and spicy mango sauce.

Both the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt are worth a visit. On weekends, you can enjoy delicious snacks and shop there. On Mondays, the Noordermarkt offers unique vintage finds and, of course, Café Winkel’s apple pie. Whether you have a reason or not, go!
