Lookout Amsterdam: the crown jewel of Amsterdam

31 May 2016

Lookout amsterdam will show you the most magic view ever!

Everyone knows the old Shell Tower, along the IJ, between the EYE and the Tolhuistuin. It cannot be missed, because this tower reaches for the sky and thus defines the skyline of Amsterdam North. For years, the tower was under constructuin and now it’s finally fisnished: A’dam Toren is ready for you! And as icing on the there’s the impressive crown of A’dam: the observation deck at 85 meters. Renamed as Lookout Amsterdam!

And of course the name hits the nail perfectly on the head. Because Lookout Amsterdam is all about the view. And wow, what a view! The crown of A’dam, already the rooftop terrace of the city, gives a unique panoramic view over the entire city. Believe me when I say you’ve never seen Amsterdam like this before. Not only do you see the historic center, but also the port and even the polders. And even more magical, if you’re there on the right time, you can see the sun disappear behind the city. How cool!

And even though just the view alone is actually enough experience, Lookout Amsterdam has more in store for you. Because when you’ve seen enough of the view (which is impossible, but okay) on the 21st floor, you can hop into the bar just one floor down. And that’s where the magical experience will continue. With the interactive games and the miniature model of the city, you can also see Amsterdam here on a whole different light.

But, the best is yet to come. Because for the real thrill seekers, Lookout has something special for you. There are also swings on the observation deck. Swings that – if you’ll go high enough – will let you fly over the edge of the tower! Of course will all safety consequences, because all daredevils will be wrapped in a full-body safety vest. So scary! Would you dare to do it? Entrance fee of Lookout Amsterdam €15!
