Kopstootbar Amsterdam: for an Amsterdam dinner near the Leidseplein

from their own dutch gin brand to famous kopstootbar amsterdam

It started with their own Dutch gin brand, Jajem, but nowadays it’s so much more than that. The men behind Jajem opened a pop-up Kopstootbar on the Zeedijk where you could go for a drink and some dancing, but now they have their own spot near the Leidseplein. And honestly, the Leidseplein doesn’t always sound as an attractive place because of all the wrong bars and drunk tourists. But the Kopstootbar Amsterdam makes the Leidseplein more fun! Perfect for a night out with friends, but since a little while also a great spot to have dinner at! We just had to go and try it ourselves. Believe us, it was good!

tasty, dutch meals at the kopstootbar amsterdam

Kopstootbar Amsterdam mainly is a place you go to with friends if you want to have some drinks (or want to dance ;-)), but now it’s also your favourite spot to eat at in the center. Not just good, really good food, but also a cozy atmosphere. The team is young, which makes this spot extra fun. So want to feel laid back and enjoy your meal before going to the pub, go to the Kopstootbar Amsterdam.

Of course the Dutch gin is typical Dutch, but so are the meals that are on the menu. Think of a cheese fondue (!), mash with meatball or a ‘Noordzeeviche‘. Meat lovers will adore this place, the steak-frites with Hollandaise sauce is too good! And if you check out the rest of the menu, you’ll also see duck confit with Jajem sauce and Amsterdam-Oriental sate, yum! Also if you’re a vegetarian, there’s enough choice for you. You can get the mash with a vegetarian meatball, it’s really good! Don’t want mash? Go for the Kopstootsalad with onion, apple, cheese, croutons and a fresh dressing. Tip: the vegetarian croquettes and the crispy fries are delicious too!

Cheesecake and sgroppino with Oreo and Jajem

Dutch gin not just as a drink, but also in the food

You can order a bit of Jajem gin (yes, we tried it), but they also use it while preparing some of the dishes. For dessert we got cheesecake with the gin, and they also used gin in the sgroppino with Oreo. Two tasty desserts that you must try!

So if you’re looking for a nice place to eat at in the city center, then you want to go to the Kopstootbar Amsterdam. Good food, good vibes! We would definitely recommend this place, go here with friends and don’t forget to try their Dutch gin!
