7 x coolest kids concept stores in Amsterdam for the perfect gift

6 May 2021

these kids concept stores have the best items for the little ones!

The mommies among us know the struggle: where do you find cool clothes and lovely toys for the little ones? Of course we all know the children’s departments of H&M and Zara and the larger toy chains… But if you really want something different, you have to know where to go. And that’s not only for moms, but also for ladies like me with a lot of friends with little kids and the need to find original gifts for the newly borns. So that’s why I asked all my friends with kids for their favourite stores and made this list with 7 kids concept stores in Amsterdam. And I can already give away that you won’t find them in the city centre ;-)

these are the coolest kids concept stores in amsterdam

kids concept stores

Big & Belg: A favorite store of many mommies and daddies. Big & Belg has two stores in the city, one on the J.P. Heijestraat and a second one on the Ferdinand Bol. For both stores it goes that the windows are always filled with beautiful inspiration and creativity. Besides clothes they also sell toys!

kids concept store

MiniMarkt: This a kids paradise of the Beethovenstraat. Here you find everything for the little ones: clothes, gifts, accessories, a children’s hairdresser and even the possibility to celebrate your children’s party here. But hey, mommy deserves a treat as well and that’s why you can also go here for breakfast, lunch, cakes and coffee from Bocca Coffee.

kids concept stores

De kleine parade: In the heart of De Pijp you find De Kleine Parade. A super place with beautiful children’s clothes, a one to rent studio and a cafe. A lot of kids stores are colourful, but yet kind of cluttered. At De Kleine Parade no such thing. Everything makes sense here. And so cool, in the studio they often organise craft parties.

kids concept stores

Grom:  this is a cool store for cool kids. You find it on the Haarlemmerdijk. Just pay attention, the window isn’t too big, so you easily miss it. Inside the store is a lot bigger than you may think and you see kids (sport) clothes everywhere. Grom feels like a skateshop: lots of sneakers, skateboards, wintersport gear, sunnies, backpacks and beanies. Cool!

Kids concept stores

Blender: You can go to Blender for almost everything: lunch, coffee, craft afternoons, kids yoga, theatre or the kids hairdresser. Oh, and they have a lot of great gifts and kids clothes as well here ;-)

kids concept stores

Wijswest: Also Wijs West on the Bilderdijkstraat is a great place for parents as well as kids. Here you find delicious sandwiches, great cappuccino’s, healthy snacks and juices, a playroom, the best kids toys and gists, workshops, hairdresser and more. Yes, the perfect place for your Saturday shopping spree.

koter en co

Koter & Co:  on the Scheldestraat is known for their super cute collections. It’s the place to shop for the best jackets and baby suits and whatever more. I mean, you can also go here for your baby’s interior and baby shower gifts.

No time for shopping? Then just order the perfect gift online!
