19 x hotspots on the Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam West

27 June 2017

These are the nicests hotspots on the Bilderijkstraat

When we were talking about fun streets in Amsterdam West at the office, the Bilderdijkstraat was one of the first streets that came up. A street in Amsterdam that’s undergoing a metamorphosis. When we first wrote this list we came up with 10 hotspots, but we can already add a few more. Because the transformation of the Bilderdijk just doesn’t stop :-) That’s why we’ve updated this list with some more hotspots. Which ones we’re talking about? Just read along! And if we missed a spot by mistake, please let us know! Enjoy these spots on the Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam.

15 x food & drink spots on the Bilderdijkstraat

Mastino V: There is a vegan pizza place at the Bilderdijkstraat! So go here with your vegan/vegetarian friends. Order a pizza, stay in or take your pizza to the park.
Sugarless: an organic lunchroom in West with daily lunches and superfood juices on the menu! But Sugarless is of course known for the dishes without refined sugars and other unhealthy sweeteners, colors and flavors. The place to go to for your shot of health!
Salad & the City: next to Happyhappyjoyjoy you’ll find healthy spot Salad & the City. A take-away and delivery salad bar where you can order delicious, surprising and well-stocked salads.

Meneer & Mevrouw Keus: this is a really nice restaurant in West and it sure is an all day spot. Why? For breakfast, lunch and dinner there are several delicious things on the menu. Like salmon burgers, grilled rib-eye and Moroccan chicken tajine.
Bar Lou Lou: here you can perfectly sit on the big terrace, how nice when the sun is shining! Go here for drinks with friends or have a lovely dinner. Order some cocktails too and have fun!
Dapper: a restaurant by daytime and a cozy bar during nighttime. At Dapper you’re pretty much welcome throughout the day for a snack or drink. Dishes are often made using the Green Egg. And for beer lovers, they have 30 special beers on the menu.

Happyhappyjoyjoy: at Yourlbb we are a big fan of the Asian cuisine. You too? Then you want to go to Happyhappyjoyjoy on the Bilderdijk! In fact, you’ve probably been there already :-) Because every day this place is crowded.

Baksels: for home-made cakes you have to go to Baksels! Cheesecake, carrot cake, red velvet cake, chocolate mud cake, raspberry cheesecake brownie, cupcakes … so much choice and all so delicious.
Zest: you go to Zest for food & more. Bulgarian dishes to share and also very nice drinks. But also enough to eat yourself instead of sharing (which is nice too ;-)). Burgers, shakes and also lots of vegan dishes.
Good to go: Good To Go is the first ‘bike through’ of The Netherlands. Yep, you can compare it to a McDrive. Though here,  instead of going by car, you go by bike and get a good cup of coffee instead of a hamburger. Perfect if you’re in a hurry!
Gallery 3: one of the newest lunch hotspots on the Bilderdijkstraat. Here you’ll get fresh juices for the kick-start of your day. Or good coffee just to wake-up. An extra plus: everything is also available for take-out.
Geflipt Burgers: burger lovers, this is where you want to go! Geflipt Burgers is a cozy spot where you (of course) can eat some burgers. Order a special beer, a cocktail and let’s get this food party started!
Miss Saigon: for good Vietnamese food, you should go to Miss Saigon. They have different kinds of spring rolls (we like) and other dishes like Vietnamese crispy pancakes.
IJscuypje: always nice to get an ice cream during summer, right? And especially one from IJscuypje, the flavours there are really our favourites. Eat your ice cream over there, or walk towards the park.
Meatless District: a vegan restaurant at the Bilderdijk! Here you can go for lunch, dinner and drinks. Favourite of editor Renée. The burger and spring rolls are really good!

4 x shopping on the Bilderdijkstraat

Wildernis: at this store they sell plants, pots, rugs and books for your home and we guarantee that you want to have it all! And while shopping you can order a cup of tea or coffee here.

Sunika: this sneaker store on the Bilderdijkstraat is just like heaven for sneaker fanatics. Here you find a special mix of sneakers.
Jutka & Riska: not the cheapest vintage shop in Amsterdam, but Jutka & Riska is a very nice one. Here you will find beautiful vintage items, clothing from their own brand and items from young designers.
Daily Paper: with this fresh flagship store of street couture label the Daily Paper the street credibilty of the Bilderdijk just got a little bit cooler. Not only you want to go here for the fine – and especially comfy – street couture, but also because of the pretty cool interior. The black-white floors and the wooden pillars are just beautiful!

Have fun at the Bilderdijkstraat!
