There are numerous stalls offering delicious artisanal products to take home or enjoy on the spot, along with plenty of spots to socialize with friends. There are also stalls to shop for gifts, from jewellery to items for kids. “Wintermarkt – Pure Markt” – Christmas market in amsterdam

This Sunday market in Amsterdam, just like the Funky Xmas Markt, always remains one of my favourites. The last edition of this year will take place in Park Frankendael on Sunday, December 17th. Perfect for enjoying something cosy with friends just before Christmas. Whether it’s for socializing or getting delicious treats for the guests coming over during Christmas. During this edition, there will be plenty of stalls and, of course, the long winding bench where you can sit and people-watch while enjoying some food! Like the Sunday Market, this will be one of the Christmas markets in Amsterdam not to miss in 2023. Kids can have a great time on the merry-go-round during this Christmas market.

christmas market museum square – Ice Village Amsterdam

While the ice rink at Museumplein might not be happening this year, the Christmas market Ice Village Amsterdam is open from December 14th. It’s filled with winter chalets offering artisanal food and handmade lifestyle products. What I also love is that this market is open on December 25th and 26th. So, it’s perfect to drop by before Christmas dinner, whether with your date, loved one, or the whole family if you would rather not stay indoors all day. This will be one of the most delightful traditional Christmas markets in Amsterdam in 2023, and it’s also great to visit with the kids!

Dates: December 14 – 26, 2023

That makes Amsterdam Winter Paradise a perfect Christmas market in Amsterdam to visit during the holiday season! christmas event in amsterdam north at verbroederij

The Verbroederij in North is definitely a cosy spot that everyone (with kids) would want to know. Fun in the summer, but this winter, there are also several events planned. Like ‘the Christmas Bazaar,’ a festive Christmas market at The Verbroederij with theatre, The Dance Palace, campfire, and live music!

the “Amsterdamsche” christmas market

In 2020, this new Christmas market at Westergas was a big success. Unfortunately, there was silence around De Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt last year, but hopefully, there will be an announcement soon that it’s happening again in 2023. Because secretly, we missed this cosy Christmas festival, which is free to enter. It’s great for unique Christmas shopping, and of course, for enjoying delicious food and drinks with friends, colleagues, your lover, or family. Expect local treats, winter dishes, mulled wine, hot chocolate, culinary snacks, craft beers, and fine wines. Hopefully, it will also include an ice rink and a special program for the kids.

these are the best christmas markets in the amsterdam area

Enjoy planning your Christmas outing! If you’re in the mood to visit a Christmas market just outside Amsterdam, I personally recommend the Christmas market in Haarlem (December 8-10, 2023) or the Royal Christmas Fair in The Hague (December 7-23). Also easily accessible by tram or metro from Amsterdam is Winter Village in Amstelveen (December 2 – January 7).
