I love new concepts in old buildings like factories or other industrial buildings. Restaurant Hotel de Goudfazant is a restaurant in Amsterdam Noord that is one of my all-time favourites for years. (You can read my blog about Hotel de Goudfazant here!). So I was very happy to hear that the creative crew behind this concept opened a new restaurant in Amsterdam Noord. Café Modern Amsterdam is located in a former banking building. It’s interior design is trendy and cosy with lots of vintage elements and some design classics. The authentic elements of the building still remind of the former life of the building. The restrooms are located in the former safes of the bank! At Café Modern in Amsterdam Noord they serve a daily changing menu. This Table d’Hote concept is used more and more at great restaurants in Amsterdam like Gebr. Hartering. At Café Modern it’s a 4-course menu with seasonal ingredients, love it! Since everyone has to order the menu Café Modern is a perfect place for a long night of wining and dining with friends or your love. And if there’s something on the menu you don’t like or eat, don’t worry! The chef can make you a special plate. I think Café Modern is a great restaurant in Amsterdam Noord and a good reason to take the ferry to go to the Northern part of town.
