special gifts, clothing and the perfect coupe at Draagbaar
We already know that the Javastraat in Amsterdam East is the trendy street of East at the moment. But what you maybe didn’t know is that you should also keep the side streets in mind when you are on a shopping spree in East. Draagbaar is one of those pearls in a side street of the Javastraat where you definitely have to go to! A store like we didn’t had in East (or in the rest of Amsterdam).
Is Draagbaar a hair salon, a store or a gallery where you can buy things? Next to the fact that the ladies at Draagbaar are really good in cutting and colouring hair, Laura and Kim also offer beginning designers a platform to sell their products. From must haves for your house to jewellery. And from furniture to clothing. Piece by piece brands that aren’t sold at other places in Amsterdam yet. With a lot of passion they tell you about the designer behind the brands. I instantly fell in love with the images of La Nonette and the jewellery of the Amsterdam brand Define Vague.
Next to being a store Draagbaar is also a hair salon. I’ve been looking for a good address for a while in Amsterdam East and now I’ve found it. I live in East and sometimes you just don’t want go on a long bike ride to get things done. And because I always decide last minute to get my hair done for example a video, before I travel or when I go to a party, it’s always good to have more addresses to be able to go to. Charlotte did my hair and happy as a child with a lolly I left the store with a perfect new coupe. What I like about Draagbaar is that they don’t treat you like a number, but it’s personally and undistinguished. They colour your hair with products of Sassoon (who invented the bob and the pixie haircut!). Completely organic. Cool for vegans: Draagbaar will soon get vegan hair salon products.
In short: an address to visit yourself! They also organise events on a regular base so keep an eye on their website.
