Rijksmuseum Amsterdam – open 365 days a year! – with video

13 April 2013

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam: Dutch masters and more…

Finally: the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam is open to the public again! And on this special April 13th the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam offers free entrance to all. Between 12.00 and 24.00 you can visit the museum, but you better prepare for a long line ;-). From April 14th the museum is open 365 days a year. During the opening year the ticket fee is € 15,-, but with a museum card entrance is free. So it’s worth buying one if you like to go to museums often! I can clearly remember my first time at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The huge paintings… it’s overwhelming! You can spend hours at the Rijksmuseum, so it’s good they have a nice museum cafe where you can go for lunch, drinks or just a coffee. It’s full of Dutch design and all the food and drinks on the menu are local Dutch brands. For the ones who choose shopping over culture there is the museum shop. Two stories with a gift section and a great selection of art and history books. If you don’t have the chance to visit the Rijksmuseum you can always check out the Rijksstudio website, with almost all the masterpieces online for you to create customized merchandise. Check out my blog about the Rijksstudio here!
