Upcomming neighbourhood
Until a year ago I hardly ever went to the Spaarndammer neighbourhood. That all chahged when trendy restaurants opened their doors there! My new favourite gastropub is CaféDe Walvis at the Spaarndammerstraat. They have a huge terrace where you can enjoy watching people in the lively shoppingstreet. And I just love the interior design, they have very cool grafity on the walls! Kinda like the no nonsense style of Berlin of London.
What’s on the menu this season?
Caféde Walvis serves great pubfood for budget friendly prices. On the menu are dishes like catch of the day, steak with fries and a burger. I had the fresh ravioli with green beans. A must try! They serve different ravioli every day, made fresh at Holy Ravioli across the street of CaféDe Walvis. Those guys from Holy Ravioli are true ravioli gods!

– The prices at CaféDe Walvis are budget friendly,like you expect in a pub. Prices on the menu are between € 14, – and € 17, -, fine by me for a quick but tasty meal!
– Cafe de Walvis is a true hotspot in Amsterdam where you can go all day, from lunch to drinks to dinner.
– Not unimportant: CaféDe Walvis attracts a cool crowd ! A fine mix of neighbors, hipsters and yuppies.
