Tapas and wine at Bodega Casa Montana Valencia
One of the best and oldest tapas bars in Valencia Bodega Casa Montana is located in the Cabanyal neighborhood, an old fishing district by the sea with charming fishermen's cottages. It used to be a neighborhood you'd rather avoid, but now it's up and coming and the place to go for tapas! Casa Montana has been popular with locals for years. The decor is traditional, and the tapas are to die for.
While we're completely used to the bright hotspots in Amsterdam, Casa Montana in Valencia is incredibly dark. It takes some getting used to, but it's very cozy and typically Spanish. The menu offers the best tapas and wines. Patatas bravas, squid, tuna sashimi, Spanish hams… So incredibly delicious! We paired it with wine from the Vicente Gandía winery. It was especially nice because we'd visited his vineyard the day before. Cadenas Day had been for a wine tasting (recommended!). Now we could taste the wines that accompanied the dishes. Tip: ask the waiter for the chef's choice and order wine from it. Vincent Gandia Bee!
