Tapas and wine at Bodega Casa Montana Valencia
One of the best and oldest tapas bars of Valencia is Bodega Casa Montana. You can find it in the suburb Cabanyal. An old fisherman neighbourhood at sea with cute little fishermen shacks. In the early days a neighbourhood where you rather didn’t go to, but now it’s upcoming and thé spot to eat tapas! For years Casa Montana has been popular with locals. The interior is traditional and the tapas are to die for.
Where in Amsterdam we are used to light coloured hotspots, Casa Montana in Valencia has a super dark atmosphere. Which is something we have to get used to, but it’s cosy and typical Spanish. On the menu you’ll find the best tapas and wines. Patatas bravas, squid, tuna sashimi, Spanish hams… So tasty! We drank our wine from winery Vicente Gandìa. Very special because the day before we went to the vineyard of Hoya de Cadenas for a wine tasting (recommended!). So now we could actually taste the wine with our meal. Tip: ask the waiter for the chefs choice and order your wine from Vincente Gandia!
