Happy weekend! Like always Amsterdam is full of cool things to do on these cold winterdays! The downtown programme of FashionWeek Amsterdam starts this weekend. Or what about staycation in Amsterdam? Somethings I can highly recommend doing. Waking up in a hotel in a different neighbourhood is just so much fun! Zalando presents 10 days Downtown >> FashionWeek Amsterdam
Fashionista alert! This weekend the downtown programme of FashionWeek kicks off. With many cool and fashionable activities from pop-up stores to drinks. This are the highlights you don’t want to miss this weekend:
>> Friday January 16 >>
– Friday is the opening party for FashionWeek at the Melkweg Club & Gallery! Check out the expo “Time to Show” by photographer Henri Verhoef and dance until the early hours at MBFWA (entrance € 12,-)!
>> Saturday January 17 >>
– Don’t miss this pop-up: the Zalando Fashion House opens this Saturday at Haarlemmerdijk 41. Open daily from 12 pm during FashionWeek. With everyday a different brand of Zalando; from Topshop to River Island, live fashionshows and free coffee!
– Do you like the items of fashion designer Ilja Visser? Until January 26 you can get a unique and limited edition bag of her brand Ready to Fish for only € 5,- at the Zalando Fashion House.
– After a visit to the pop-up store it’s time to check out Canvas at the Volkshotel for “Fashion Evolution” a market with local concept stores and designers from 12-7 pm. Join the party at Club Canvas later at night (free entrance)!
>> Sunday January 18 >>
– Everything for a lazy and fashionable Sunday! The Dutch Opera and fashion designer Zyanya Keizer host a fashion concert. Very curious about that! From 4-7 pm at the Nationale Opera (entrance € 10,-)

– Another event not to miss this weekend is the Amsterdam Hotel Night on January 17. We created a shortlist with the 7 coolest parties >>

– Saturday it’s fun to go to the Hallen for the Local Goods Market and brunch at the Foodhallen. And perhaps a movie at the Filmhallen afterwards?

– Do you like old school games like Monopoly? Check in at “Spelletjes op zondag” (this Sunday) at Roest to play games with your friends.

– Tip for everyone who loves books. The Stedelijk Museum organises a book fair on January 17 + 18!

– You want to go to the theater? The performance ‘Omstanders’ of Mtg De Koude Kermis is a tragicomedy about small-scale disaster tourism. A Saturday night show at De Balie!

– Do you want to get fit for spring? These special gyms might be something for you:
* Bodytec Lounge (20 minute workout!)
* Delight Yoga 
* Vondelgym

Last weekend, so check it while you can!
– Ice skating in Amsterdam: Zell Am Rembrandt, Jaap Eden Schaatsbaan & ICE Amsterdam.
