Restaurant Lt. Cornelis Amsterdam: for high dining in the city center

20 March 2017

AT RESTAURANT LT. CORNELIS AMSTERDAM YOU EAT DUTCH FOOD WITH A TWIST

Restaurant Lt. Cornelis Amsterdam is perfect for a date with your love, a night to catch up with your friends, or some quality time with the family. Restaurant Lt. Cornelis Amsterdam is a restaurant in the center of Amsterdam in the Voetboogstraat, across from Eetcafé ‘t Pakhuys. Not necessarily hidden, but also pretty discrete. When you look in from the outside you see a small area with a bar, but what you don’t see is that on the right side there’s a staircase that takes you to a huge area where you’re surprised by cosiness and luxury. Please can this be our living room?

The restaurant is nicely decorated and takes you back to the legendary Dutch history with a modern twist that fits perfectly with the authentic and historical building. The colours are warm and give you a bit of a royal feeling. There are also a lot of paintings of, among others, Rembrandt, that you can’t keep your eye off during dinner.

At Restaurant Lt. Cornelis Amsterdam you can expect Dutch dishes, but then done differently. Typical Dutch classics made with delicious, local, and sustainable Dutch products, or Dutch ‘influence’, with a high dining twist. The dishes look like beautiful paintings that you actually want to hang up. You understand, it was a party to be able to try the dishes one for one.

Good wine is served with the dishes that are from The Netherlands or made by the Dutch, and really give the dishes that final touch. Tip: start your evening with one of the cocktails, how about a stroopwafel (Dutch caramel cookie) or ginger cocktail? The gin tonics with rosemary and grapefruit served in a fishbowl will also make sure to give you a fun night. Take a look at the dishes that we enjoyed, how good do they look?
