Felicia Amsterdam: a pop up theatre of flavours

9 August 2015

the perfect place for a refreshing and tasty summer in Amsterdam: Felicia!

Felicia Amsterdam is a pop-up concept that just settled at the Leidseplein. A collaboration between The Coffeevine Bar, Glacier Fou and Myrthe’s Delight. The first time they have their own physical place! The main idea is to create a theatre of flavours. Coffee, ice cream and fruit sorbets. The three entrepreneurs are all trying to bring back the real taste of ingredients in our lives. Mixing quality and originality, they came up with this great idea to gather their spirit in a physical place just for you! Located at the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam.

The Coffeevine X Felicia Amsterdam

Let’s introduce Alex first; a coffee passionate who undertook the challenge to index the best coffee shops in a blog called The Coffeevine. The most popular coffee blog in Europe! But there’s more.. Every month, The Coffeevine selects 3 different filtered and high quality coffee and send them to your home in a lovely box! Coffee lovers, I can feel your excitement from here! So run to Felicia, learn everything about different filtering techniques and have a great home made Ice Coffee! Alex tries his best to come up with creative recipes all the time and it works very well!

What else has Felicia to offer? Glacier Fou (meaning the crazy ice cream maker)! Remember these weird and evil scientists surrounded by these giant scientific machines in cartoons when you were a child? That’s the idea of Glacier Fou which is the first molecular ice cream shop in Amsterdam! Yes, you heard well.

Every month they come up with 4 types of very original molecular ice cream. I can’t wait to taste the Gin & Tonic sorbet with basil topping because the Asparagus ice cream I had last time was delicious! So let science operates in front of your eyes and try these wonderful, original and tasty ice creams. And of course, they works with local providers, and very high quality ingredients!

Last but not least… Myrthe’s Delight! A low calorie sorbet maker. Really? Really! Only 30 calories per ice cream (on average). The secret ? Less sugar and more fruits! They use natural sugar in order to maintain an ice cream structure and mix many ingredients together. The best-seller one is apparently the chocolate ice cream. This is pretty funny when you actually know that the cook messed up in following the original recipe to come up with that great one! So on a diet this summer? Make a run for these healthy low calorie sorbets!

So now you must understand why Felicia in Amsterdam is also called a theatre of flavour! And nice to know this concept is all about flavors seeking, quality and originality. So refresh and reinvent your summer at pop up Felicia!
