Koh Phi Phi is één van de zes eilanden uit de Phi Phi eilandengroep en het is zeker de moeite waard! Het eiland is erg populair onder de backpackers, maar ook als je toe bent aan een relaxvakantie ben je hier op het juiste adres. Het eiland is niet groot, er rijden dan ook geen auto’s of scooters. Alles is te voet te bereiken, hoe fijn is dat? In dit overzicht hebben wij de beste boutique hotels Koh Phi Phi voor je op een rijtje gezet.
Je vindt op Koh Phi Phi hotels in iedere prijsklasse. Van goedkopere hotels tot superluxe hotels aan het strand. Er is voor ieder wat wils! Het goedkoopste hotel uit dit lijstje kost maar €60,- per nacht, dus waar wacht je nog op?

Ice cream date, anyone?
One of the newest openings at Amstel1 is De Boule De Boule, an ice cream and pastry parlour just behind Waterlooplein. After trying it, I can confirm: the ice cream is really, really good.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗕𝗘
After seeing their Instagram, you might think of places like Folderol in Paris, the spot that became famous for pairing ice cream with wine.
But De Boule De Boule feels different. Less destination wine bar, more day-time neighbourhood café where you can stop by for homemade ice cream, a pastry, coffee and, yes, a glass of wine.
Inside you’ll find shelves filled with vinyl records, a display of freshly made ice cream and homemade pastries crafted by two in-house pastry chefs.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗗
Amstel1 is still being discovered by Amsterdam and it was a little quiet during our visit. I expect the vibe to only get better as more shops open and people find their way here. I’m especially curious to see how it feels this weekend with the market taking over the area for the first full weekend. This covered location with a courtyard feel is incredibly promising.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗
• Olive oil & basil ice cream with sea salt
• Chocolate ice cream with hazelnut topping
• Paired with a glass of Chardonnay and an orange wine.
All of the ice cream is made in-house and completely vegan. If nobody had told me, I honestly wouldn’t have guessed.
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧
The ice cream is excellent, but what makes De Boule De Boule interesting is that it’s more than an ice cream shop. It’s a place for coffee, pastries, a glass of wine or drinks after a performance at the Stopera.
And yes, I’m already planning to go back to try more flavours, but next time in the evening for a dessert after dinner elsewhere. Just to see how the space changes throughout the day. What I would order then? Very curious about the White Coffee ice-cream!

Hello June!
The first weekend of the month is looking very good if you ask me. Think wine festivals, vintage markets, oysters, live jazz, street art and a ridiculous amount of new restaurants to put on your radar.
This weekend I’m especially excited about Bacchus Wine Festival in the Amsterdamse Bos, Sunday Market at Westergas, the oysters & brocante afternoon at Le French Café and Red Light Jazz taking over hidden venues across the city centre.
Also fun: STRAAT Museum is hosting its first Women in Street Art Weekend at the NDSM-werf, Fort Negen is bringing back its cult-favourite pizza pop-up for two nights only, and if you’re heading to Noord anyway, it’s your last chance to cycle through Amsterdam’s Oatly Bike Thru before it disappears on June 7.
And for those always looking for new places to try: The Jollof Club, Café de Vos, Bar How and the terrace of Monne (right on the Amstel!), are all brand new and worth knowing about.

From the IJ-Hallen and Pure Markt in Park Frankendael to the Sunday Market at Rokin and treasure hunting at the Amstelveld Antiques Market.
And in Noord you’ll want to stay all day, because Stripfest is taking over the Hamerkwartier with food, music, workshops and parties at spots like FC Hyena, Skatecafé and Oedipus.
Also very into the sound of the new Zuiver Bar & Nai!! Sake Bar, Meneer van Galen and Bonburger Noord.
And yes… if you’re heading to Noord anyway, make sure to cycle past the @oatly Bike Thru for an iced matcha, specialty coffee or that viral soft serve at the Papaverhoek.

Life lately.
Soms heb ik van die momenten waarop ik even stilsta bij hoe bijzonder dit allemaal eigenlijk is.
Dat ik ruim 14 jaar geleden begon met een blog waarop ik gewoon mijn favoriete adressen wilde delen. Dat Your Little Black Book inmiddels zoveel mensen inspireert om nieuwe plekken te ontdekken. En dat ik nog steeds nieuwe bestemmingen mag verkennen, zoals deze maand Taiwan.
Wat ik misschien nog wel het leukste vind? Dat jullie overal met me mee naartoe gaan. Naar nieuwe restaurants, hotels, steden en landen. Maar ook naar de meer persoonlijke momenten tussendoor.
De lieve berichten die ik dagelijks krijg, de tips die jullie terugsturen, de plekken die jullie ontdekken via de guides. Het blijft bijzonder om te zien hoeveel mensen al jaren onderdeel zijn van deze community.

Another long weekend and honestly… Amsterdam is really showing off right now.
This Pinkster weekend is packed with festivals, food markets, and summer events all over the city. Think Asian street food at Art of Taste on Museumplein, four days of Lepeltje Lepeltje at the NDSM-werf, and so much more.
Also on my mom radar this weekend: family festival GOLD at the Amsterdamse Bostheater, Ridderweekend at Muiderslot, and Pinksterweekend at Jeugdland Amsterdam.

Zo van de airport door naar dit zaakje om soup dumplings en zó veel meer te proeven! Dat is wat ik noem een soft landing 😉 <3
In Taipei ga je naar een Soy Milk Shop voor ontbijt. Warme soy milk die je eet in een bowl en stoommandjes met de lekkerste dumplings en baozi’s. Je kunt mij echt wakker maken voor dit soort ontbijtjes. Deze lokale ontbijttentjes komen in alle soorten en maten, van Michelin-recommended adressen tot hole-in-the-wall-kraampjes.
De meeste soy milk shops zijn al vroeg (en soms zelfs 24 uur per dag) open en dit zijn de gerechten die je wilt proeven:

🥢 Soup dumplings (je kunt vaak kiezen tussen pork en veggies)

🥢 Youtiao (油條 - een soort fried donut stick)

Villa 360 is een hotel dat bestaat uit prachtige villa’s die van alle gemakken zijn voorzien. Je kunt gebruik maken van het buitenzwembad dat omringd is met fel oranje parasols en met twee minuten wandelen sta je op het strand. Bij het hotel hoort Bungyavee restaurant waar je van 06:30 tot 22:00 uur terecht kunt voor internationale gerechten. Ook is er een bar aanwezig waar je tot een uur of 20:00 cocktails kunt drinken.

Het Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort vind je op één minuut lopen van het strand. Voor wat ontspanning kun je terecht in de spa of in het fitnesscentrum en in het Api Restaurant & Bar kun je genieten van een à-la carte lunch of diner. De bungalows waarin je logeert zijn gebouwd in de typische Thaise stijl met rieten dak. Hier wil je logeren!

Aan het prachtige strand van Ko Phi Phi vind je Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort. Dit hotel is perfect als je behoefte hebt aan rust. Wat ook super fijn is: dit hotel is super budgetproof! Ideaal als je op je budget wilt letten tijdens je vakantie. De bungalows zijn eenvoudig ingericht, maar het zal er je aan niks ontbreken.

Het Holiday Inn Resort ligt op één minuut lopen van het hagelwitte strand waar je prima de hele dag kunt vertoeven. Als je toch wilt relaxen, maar meer behoefte hebt aan privacy, dan kun je terecht op je eigen balkon waar een heerlijk ligbed staat. In de omgeving kun je snorkelen en nog een hele boel andere watersportactiviteiten. Echt een aanrader!

Dit zeer betaalbare hotel ligt aan het strand en geloof mij, je wilt hier logeren! Tijdens je verblijf slaap je in één van de typische Thaise bungalows met uitzicht op zee, je krijgt hier het ultieme vakantiegevoel. Het eigen restaurant serveert Thaise gerechten en op vijf minuten lopen vind je een aantal leuke restaurants en bars als je toe bent aan iets anders.

Tips voor goedkope vliegtickets en meer
Wij boeken heel wat vliegtickets per jaar, maar als een bestemming goed met de trein te bereiken is dan kiezen we liever voor de trein. Omdat niemand teveel wilt betalen voor een ticket is mijn tip om je in te schrijven voor nieuwsbrieven zodat je als eerste op de hoogte bent van speciale aanbiedingen.
► Via NS International boek je internationale treintickets zoals Londen en Berlijn. Voor de meeste trajecten, zoals bijvoorbeeld de Thalys naar Parijs, kun je de tickets vanaf drie maanden van te voren boeken. Dan zijn de tarieven ook het laagst!
