Hotel Dwars Amsterdam: design boutique hotel

26 March 2014

The perfect boutique hotel in town: Hotel Dwars Amsterdam!

Hotel Dwars Amsterdam is located around the corner of one of my favourite streets, the Utrechtsestraat. It’s a small scale boutique hotel with 9 unique rooms designed by the girls from Things I Like Things I Love. The style is bohemian meets design and makes you feel at home instantly. Hotel Dwars Amsterdam is not only a great place to stay for the night but also for some inspiration for your home :-). I really like the brick stone walls and the hanging baskets with plants. Every room has a very cool and unique bedspread!

We stayed at room 2 which is a lovely room with huge skylights above the bed. It’s beautiful to watch the sunset when you’re relaxing on the bed before going out for dinner.

Our room had a third bed which makes it a perfect room to book if you’re planning on a weekend trip with the girls or guys. The rooms are super comfortable and have all the luxury you need on a city trip to Amsterdam!

One other great things about Hotel Dwars Amsterdam is the location. There are so many hotspots in the Utrechtsestraat. Bar Moustache or Lite / Dark is perfect for breakfast if you stay in Hotel Dwars (they don’t offer breakfast at the hotel). For coffee my favourite close to the hotel is Two For Joy. I really like the mix of restaurants, coffee spots and shops in the Utrechtsestraat. Don’t miss concept store Maison NL, JAN, Centre Neuf, Samsoe & Samsoe and the Marc by Marc Jacobs store there.

Hotel Dwars is in walking distance of many attractions in Amsterdam and perfect for a weekend get away. Have fun!
