First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.
So thank you for your support when you see #yourlbbcollab, #pressstrip or #prinvited ;-).
This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.
Luckily, I have a small team that helps with certain sections, and this year we're going through all the tips critically. What's still truly fun, and what's not?
As a leisure expert and queen of curation, I'm so excited to take yourlittleblackbook.me to the next level. Even though being an online entrepreneur requires constant attention and doesn't always come naturally, I wouldn't want anything else.
My mission remains: making your life easier.
So you don't have to search, but can simply choose well.
So glad you were here this year. Without you, there would be no Your Little Black Book 🖤
See you in 2026!
With love,
@anne_de_buck

I have always been part of the family and have always been proud of my work. I have a nice garden in my garden 🗝️👀
Mark your calendars! Because on January 17th and 18th, Hotel Night returns to Amsterdam with a year-round event packed with health and wellness events, and of course, legendary parties you'll be talking about all year long.
I got a sneak peek at The Art of Balance theme at the luxurious Anantara Krasnapolsky and arranged a similarly special experience for you as a YLBB follower.
And in my opinion:
• overnight stay for 2 people in a luxury room on January 17, 2026
• access to the spa & wellness (subject to availability via the wellness desk)
• pre-dinner cocktail at Bar The Tailor
• fully catered dinner from the chef
• passe-partouts for the Hotel Night parties
• extensive breakfast in the Winter Garden
• participation in unique Ice Experience in Krasnapolsky Summergarden
And in Flanders:
• let us know who you would like to check in with at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky during the Mastercard Hotel Night
• download the Mastercard Hotel Night app where you can see the complete program
• and take a look at @hotelnacht and @anantarakrasnapolsky for the latest updates and to get the fun started!
The winner will be notified on January 5th in a comment from @hotelnacht that I will share in my stories.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Love,
Anne

I'll kick off this list with one of my favorites! On our last evening in Zurich, we had a wonderful meal on the terrace at Silex. This culinary hotspot was recently included in the Michelin Guide, and I can see why. They cook incredibly well with local ingredients and have an impressive wine list. Many wines are also available by the glass, so be sure to ask the team for advice. The menu features dishes that can be ordered individually or for sharing, prepared with the finest seasonal ingredients. Made with pure, Swiss-grown ingredients and with a creative touch. With a bit of luck, you'll be dining on the terrace here, just like we did, but the interior of this restaurant in the 3rd floor is also a cozy place for a more elaborate dinner.

Every major city has a ramen restaurant these days, and I can tell you that Miki in Zurich is a winner. The small, simply decorated restaurant offers a great glimpse into the kitchen. Grab a table by the open window or on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful weather. We had lunch there, and the ramen is so delicious that you'll feel like you're in Japan for a moment if you close your eyes. Order a few gyoza to share, and don't forget: slurping is allowed! Tip: Don't miss Miki's street in Zurich's trendy 3rd district, as you'll find several great hotspots right next to each other.

It's no secret that vegan food is anything but boring. It's less well known that Anoah is the place to go for the best fine dining vegan food in Zurich. This green hotspot is located outside the city center, so you'll likely find yourself surrounded by locals, just like us. The extensive menu is quite unique, with all dishes curated by color and changing seasonally. The chef collaborates with local farmers and even has its own vegetable garden atop Rigiblick Mountain. If you have time for dinner, it's fun to take the tram up for a beautiful view of the city.

In trendy Zurich West, on Förrlibuckstrasse, you'll find the hip Collective Bakery. With neighbors like the University of Arts, the Toni-Areal, and several media agencies, you know this is no ordinary bakery. All of Zurich's hippests come here in the morning for a coffee. Naturally, with a homemade pastry! The windows are filled with gourmet sandwiches, crispy croissants, pastries, and savory Danish pastries. I was tempted by a Danish with asparagus, which I enjoyed on the terrace. Coffee and plans for a new day in Zurich—there's no better way to start the day. Tip: They have two locations in the city: a takeaway window near Silex and a bakery in Zurich West right behind the 25 Hours Hotel, which I've visited a few times.

Coffee and natural wine! A concept I saw in several places in Zurich, and it was spot on. Slurp is an example of one of those establishments that flows seamlessly from morning to afternoon and evening. A cleverly done gem of a hotspot that feels like a discovery. Tucked away in a residential courtyard, you can relax on the terrace or inside in the living room. This coffee shop/wine bar is furnished with vintage designer furniture and has an industrial interior. Music plays a significant role in this establishment and complements the atmosphere of the day just as well as the drinks menu. Slurp is the kind of place every neighborhood should have.

Did we experience a moment of happiness sitting on the terrace of Café Du Bonheur overlooking Bullingerplatz? Absolutely! What a lovely café-restaurant, and definitely worth cycling past if you're in Zurich. If you'd like to have lunch, reservations are recommended, as this is a popular spot with locals. Start your day with a coffee made with beans roasted especially for them. Although they have a large terrace, the warm interior is just as cozy inside. The menu changes daily, and you can choose from various daily specials for lunch or dinner. For breakfast, order a croissant or the pancakes!

In the up-and-coming 3rd district, Sihlfeldstrasse is the place to be for hip locals. I'd recommend: if you have dinner at Miki in the evening, go straight on for drinks at Bar Sacchi. During the day, you can enjoy a coffee there, and in the evening, this bar is perfect for a glass of wine, local beer, or a good cocktail. In the summer, the terrace is lovely, but in bad weather, the small interior is a bit cozy. You can't eat here, but there are plenty of nice places nearby to eat something to eat ;-).

If you, like me, love indoor food markets, Markthalle Im Viadukt is the place to be. This enormous fresh produce market isn't just a market; you'll also find various restaurants, shops, and bars. And all of this, as the name suggests, is located under a viaduct. This viaduct is still in use, by the way. A train still runs over it a few times an hour. The area around the Markthalle has undergone a major renovation in recent years, and you'll find many more great shops on the long viaduct that runs almost all the way to Frau Gerolds Garden, from (fashion) boutiques to restaurants and cafes with views of the park. Markthalle Im Viadukt is the perfect place to pick up a tasty picnic if you're visiting one of the Badis or to relax for a few hours in the park.

If you're planning to visit this coffee hotspot, timing is everything. This place is only open on weekends. We arrived very early after a visit to the flea market at Helvetiaplatz. Don't be surprised if you see some strange characters shuffling past on Langstrasse, just out of a club. Bar Butter is tucked away in a side street, and you can relax there with your morning coffee on a bench outside. The menu is full of delicious brunch dishes. Already have breakfast plans? Then head to Bar Butter in the late afternoon. Then the coffee gives way to a wide selection of sparkling wines from all over the world.
Zwinglistrasse 38, Zurich, Switzerland – barbutter.ch

Don't have a dinner reservation but still want to visit a nice place? Cor Wine & Pintxos only accepts walk-ins, and if you arrive early, you're sure to get a table. It's more of a wine bar than a restaurant, so it's also a great place for drinks and appetizers. Ask for wine recommendations, and you can sample some by the glass. A nice touch: all the Spanish dishes and pintxos are vegan. The corner terrace is perfect for people-watching. If the weather isn't so great, you can also sit inside in the cozy bar.

Next week, following Zurich West, the up-and-coming Altstetten district is the perfect spot for a delicious lunch, drink, or dinner. Nüni is a restaurant located on a former industrial site that also houses a former depot. Inside, the decor is warm and cozy, but in good weather, the sunny terrace is the best. Here, you have a view of old train cars and it truly feels like a place in development. The team is incredibly friendly, and the menu is Mediterranean with a Greek twist. We had a delicious lunch there, and the various pita dips are highly recommended!
Hohlstrasse 430, Zurich, Switzerland – nüni.ch

© Your Little Black Book – Nüni
On the same grounds as Nüni is the super-beautiful coffee bar ViCAFE Rösterei & Kaffeebar. If you're lucky, the beans will be roasted while you're enjoying your coffee. Needless to say, the spacious room (which even boasts a palm tree) is filled with the wonderful aroma of coffee. Choose your favorite coffee from the extensive menu and order it to go or enjoy it there. Easily one of the most beautiful coffee bars in Zurich!

Are you as much of a matcha fan as I am? Then there's a spot in Zurich you simply can't miss. The Matcha Club is the city's matcha lab, where everyone can discover the health benefits of matcha. Owner Chiara prepares this unique green tea with meticulous care. The menu features various (iced) matcha combinations you'll want to try. The ultra-clean, white interior makes this hotspot unique in the city.

Fancy a pre-dinner drink in Zurich? Then Acid is a great (wine) bar for a late afternoon getaway. Fancy a local beer or natural wine? Feel free to ask the team if you can sample some. No room on the terrace? Chances are they'll set up some extra tables next door once the shops close. Besides an extensive drink menu, they also offer some snacks. But the best way to check their Instagram is to see if they have a pop-up shop while you're in Zurich for the weekend.
Langstrasse 67, Zurich, Switzerland – instagram.com/acidzh

When I first went on a city trip to Zurich a while ago, Frau Gerold was a new hotspot in the then-currently developing Zurich West district. It's so great to see how this place has truly transformed the neighborhood. Frau Gerolds Garten is a meeting place for delicious food and drinks near Hardbrücke station. We were there during the day to enjoy an ice cream at Gelateria Di Berna and browse the shops. For example, you'll find a large Freitag store with a tower of containers visible from miles away. The best time to visit Frau Gerolds Garten is after work or on the weekend. That's when locals come here for drinks and a bite to eat on the large terrace.

Babu's Bakery & Coffeehouse is a household name for breakfast in Zurich! It's no surprise, then, that they now have several locations throughout the city. Don't be surprised if you see a line outside the bakery in the morning. The freshly baked bread smells delicious and tastes even better. And we haven't even mentioned the pastries yet. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, or just a piece of cake, at Babu's Bakery & Coffeehouse you can sit comfortably on the terrace or by the window to people-watch and enjoy all the delicious treats. The carrot cake is incredibly good, and you'll definitely want to order it if you're a fan of it, as I am!

If you love big designer brands, a visit to Zurich should definitely include the section of Bahnhofstrasse near Bürkiplatz. A coffee spot worth remembering nearby is Milchbar. Tucked away in the courtyard of a beautiful historic building, you can enjoy a cappuccino in peace. With a view of the fountain and a peaceful oasis, you'll be right in the heart of the city.
Kappelergasse 16, Zurich, Switzerland – milchbar.ch

Looking for a chic evening out? Then La Muña's rooftop terrace overlooking the lake is highly recommended. This restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the luxury hotel La Réserve Eden au Lac. Be sure to bring a stylish outfit for this occasion. From the rooftop terrace, you'll have panoramic views of Lake Zurich. The menu is Japanese-Peruvian and full of delicious dishes perfect for sharing. I was there for lunch, and the crispy rice with spicy tuna is a must-order. So is the ceviche. This place is perfect for a romantic evening out for two. Enjoy the lake view, the fine wines, and each other, and you'll have the perfect ending to your city break in Zurich. Tip: only go here if you can truly dine al fresco, as this will create a truly wow effect.
Utoquai 45, Zurich, Switzerland – lareserve-zurich.com
A lovely place to stop for a drink at the end of the day with some small dishes is Heisswijn. They bake their own sourdough here, and that's a must-try. As for wines, they only offer natural wine. If you're not familiar with it, be sure to ask for advice. There's a good chance you'll stay for a second glass! The dishes change regularly and are made for sharing. We arrived just after opening, just in time for a spot on the small terrace among the creative locals.
Konradstrasse 40, Zurich, Switzerland – heisswein.ch

© Your Little Black Book – Heisswijn
A crispy crust, a good base, and a delicious topping… The pizzas at Pizza Derby in Zurich have everything a good pizza needs and are popular in the 3rd district. There are only a few pizzas on the menu, and they change regularly. I recommend sharing and trying them all. But… definitely save room for the excellent tiramisu! In good weather, you can enjoy dining on the terrace, although the restaurant interior is also very cozy and warm.

Got a mezze craving in Zurich and fancy something a little different? Bebek is open from lunchtime onwards, and you can tuck in here for some excellent mezze, all homemade. They have a terrace, but you can also sit comfortably inside the modern restaurant. Order a table full of dishes to share, and you'll have a delicious lunch.

Are you in Zurich with a group and want to go somewhere where you can also stay and dance afterward? Charlatan RestoDisco is a place where you can eat and go out. According to the team, this place is especially busy and popular in the colder months. The enormous disco ball is definitely a nice eye-catcher! If you're going, I'd say go as late as possible for dinner, have a cocktail afterward, and wait to see if it turns into a busy night that lasts until the early hours!

While shopping in Zurich's city center, there's one restaurant and rooftop bar you should definitely consider for a break. Rooftop offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of the shopping streets. Enter the Rituals store, take the elevator, and moments later you'll find yourself on a rooftop with views of the city. Below the bustling Bahnhofstrasse, the rooftop is an oasis of tranquility. Grab a table at the edge of the terrace, and you'll have the perfect spot for an aperitif or a delicious lunch. The menu features Asian fusion dishes designed for sharing. We had a delicious lunch there and enjoyed a long chat in the sunshine.
