Winter restaurant Vuurtoreneiland: fine dining in a bunker

14 November 2016

winter restaurant vuurtoreneiland is an unforgettable experience!

When you wanted to dine in a special way during the past summer, then Vuurtoreneiland was the place to be. After a boat trip of about 45 minutes, you’d arrive on the beautiful island and after a short walk you reached the greenhouse where you sat down for a special dinner. With stunning views over the water the best dishes where served. But now the cold winter has arrived and the greenhouse is too cold for a warm and cozy dinner. Time for a creative solution: you can now dine in the winter restaurant Vuurtoreneiland. In the bunker next to the greenhouse that is!

You read it right, in a bunker indeed. You find this old bunker next to the greenhouse and they did everything to let this ruined fort flourish again. The result is magnificent: an underground, dark restaurant with mysterious alleys, cozy corners, soft lightning and wonderful food. And a wine room, they also have wine room. Yay! Along with the animal skins on the floor and the wooden blocks for the fireplace it makes winterrestaurant Vuurtoren perhaps the most cozy restaurant during the winter months.

For such a special night, which makes you forget everything around you, you pay 90,00 euros per person. That includes the boat trip, the 5-course table d’hôte menu and the matching wines. All the dishes are prepared on open fire, with totally tops the cozy vibes. Sounds like a very perfect night, right? The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Saturday night and you can make your reservations on the  website. This season the tickets for Vuurtoreneiland are sold out so put a reminder in your agenda for early February and keep a close eye on their website.

Tip: you can always call the restaurant to find out about any last minute tables!
