Amsterdam East is booming! So many new hotspots have opened or are about to open here, and 4850 is one of them. The men behind this concept are originally Swedish and now live in Amsterdam. That's why the name was deliberately chosen: the numbers refer to the house number, but are also easily translated into Dutch, English, and Swedish. The wine room is the heart of this establishment. Here, the temperature is precisely controlled to ensure the wines reach their full potential. Choosing from the many varieties can be tricky, but the hosts are happy to help you choose. Celebrating something? They're big fans of champagne here, so they offer several by the glass. Cheers!
The team at 4850 stands for good coffee and fine wines, and they serve matching dishes. The menu will be varied, just like the coffee beans (which currently come from Scandinavia), but the Scandinavian influences will remain visible. For example, during the day you can enjoy Scandinavian smörrebröd or fika, or cakes and pastries. In the evening, the steak tartare is a chef's favorite, with foie gras and caviar. The menu is small but guarantees high quality. So this isn't just a place for coffee during the day or a good wine in the evening, but also for a delicious dinner! We'll be back soon to try the Scandinavian cuisine and are also very much looking forward to the impressive wine room.
Happy travels!
WITH LOVE,
WIEKE
