Vegan food is becoming increasingly popular worldwide, making it easier for vegan travelers. Vegans no longer have to eat carrots from the supermarket for dinner. Pop-up vegan food restaurants, lunch spots, and even ice cream parlors are springing up like mushrooms. Finally, there is some attention being paid to the people who choose to think consciously about food and the world! The Independent decided to list the top 10 global cities where vegans couldn't be happier, and we couldn't resist sharing it.
It's time to travel the (vegan) world!
Turin: This Italian city will be Italy's first official vegan city. There are more than 30 restaurants and bars where you can enjoy vegan food in the capital of Piedmont. Certainly a bold move for a country that places a high priority on meat-based food!
Tel Aviv: Veganism has been a long-standing trend in Israel. Since 2014, there have been a growing number of innovative vegan food concepts. Fun fact: Tel Aviv has become such a huge vegan hotspot that Domino's even delivers animal-free pizza!
Berlin: With over 50 restaurants focused purely on vegan food, Berlin is definitely a rising star in this industry! In this cultural city, it goes beyond just food. Veganism can be found in clothing, beer and wine, and even video games.

Helsinki: This city is developing several vegan restaurants. Several chefs are experimenting with plant-based ingredients and spices. And most spots even use oat milk!
Chennai: With a population where over 50% is vegan, it's certainly no surprise that there are plenty of options for vegans in this Indian city. Tip: For a truly Indian experience, go to Royal Vega at the ITC Grand Chola hotel!
Melbourne: Australia's second-largest city has long been progressive when it comes to vegan food, but in recent years, a vegan movement has emerged in Melbourne. Restaurants and food chains are trying to capitalize on this, and more and more new vegan initiatives are popping up. Yes!
San Francisco: Considering the healthy hippie vibe that prevails here, the concept of vegan is nothing new. San Francisco is home to some of the most innovative vegan restaurants. Tip: you can enjoy delicious vegan Mexican food here, with meat-free dishes that still offer a true Mexican experience!

Austin: Texas, really? We can hear you thinking, but the vegan movement has been strong here for over 50 years. There are several food truck festivals serving vegan food, and the selection is enormous! P.S.: Go for a sweet vegan ice cream at Sweet Ritual!
Vancouver: In the world's 3rd most livable city, after Melbourne and Vienna, interest in vegan food is growing. There are several restaurants, such as the healthy Heirloom Vegetarian, founded by two plus-size chefs with the goal of promoting healthy eating. How inspiring!
London: this international city is always on top of its game! It was even chosen by PETA as the most animal-friendly city in the world. There's a huge selection of vegan restaurants, from vegan chicken to vegan Italian dishes. YUM!
These were the 10 world cities for vegans that even we now really want to visit!
Great as a gift for yourself or someone who loves to travel as much as you do!
