So proud to finally be able to tell you all about the Your Little Black Book afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam! A dream come true – as an ambassador for the Waldorf Amsterdam. Until the end of September, the famous Summer Afternoon Tea is all about staycation. Under the motto "In Touch With The Dutch," chef Sidney Schutte, pastry chef Vipin Charly, and I will take you on a culinary journey through the Netherlands. The Summer Afternoon Tea can be reserved until the end of September and is available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Peacock Alley as well as for takeaway. A special box has been developed for the takeaway Summer Afternoon Tea, making it perfect for at home, but also for the park or on the boat.

Takeaway Summer Afternoon Tea
For the Staycation afternoon tea menu, Chef Sidney Schutte and I drew inspiration from our Zeeland roots. This was achieved through ten different bites inspired by flavors from our childhood and our lives now as world travelers. Pastry chef Vipin Charly and the chef team translated the images and flavors into elegant and refined edible creations.
The menu features savory delights in the form of an edible mussel shell with mussel salad, mustard mayonnaise, and garlic crumble; a Texel lamb ham sandwich with green asparagus, roasted paprika, and mustard; a herring roll with chive cream; a windmill sandwich with Drenthe sausage, boiled ham, and pesto; and 'swallow clatter' with beetroot and parsley root.
The sweet treats speak for themselves with names such as Zeeuwse knop with Zeeuwse boterbabbelaar; Haagse Hopjestompouce with orange; stroopwafel with lavender and blackberries; a Bossche bol with chocolate glaze and double cream; and a luchtballon with strawberries and elderflower. Naturally accompanied by traditional scones, raisin & cinnamon, and vanilla.
The culinary journey begins in Amsterdam and takes you along familiar and lesser-known flavors. I am so incredibly proud of the end result and how the team has translated my favorite Dutch flavors into the most beautiful edible creations!
Good to know: the Summer Afternoon Tea is available vegetarian with a modified menu.
