You may know the Italian plant-based concept from Utrecht – Vegitalian has two locations there – but now you will no longer have to be outside the ring for a conscious meal from Italian cuisine. Vegitalian Amsterdam is a fact – and is located in the HappyHappyJoyJoy building on the Bilderdijkstraat. And so Amsterdam-West has a brand new Italian hotspot.
Discover Vegitalian Amsterdam, the newest hotspot in Amsterdam West
In 2020, Sippien Baarsma, Wichert van Rijn, and Joep van den Bersselaar opened their first Vegitalian location in Utrecht. It is a total concept, with which they provide their guests with delicious Italian and plant-based refreshments from early morning until late evening. The owners aim to make plant-based food affordable, creative, and available to a broad audience. According to them, it is a misconception that it has to be either end or very expensive – and with Vegitalian, they have been successfully proving it for years. There are now two locations in Utrecht; and the first location in Amsterdam is also up and running. The owner’s mission is to conquer other countries with their concept, known for its enormous choice and pleasant, uplifting interior. At Vegitalian, you feel like you’re on holiday in Italy. In terms of color and atmosphere, you even feel like you’re in Capri for a moment. The yellow and white corporate identity and awnings feel thoroughly Italian, like the earth tones incorporated into the interior. The wooden chairs with striped cushions take it even further. The cheerful interior and always good menu (see below) also make this place suitable for children to visit.
Menu Vegitalian Amsterdam
Vegitalian Amsterdam’s menu will include more than just pizza; the owners hope to spread their mission beyond just the dinner table. That’s why you can also go to their Amsterdam location for plant-based breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Think of filled (vegan) croissants, avocado toast, a wide range of wraps and salads, and Italian classics in a modern guise. Vegitalian is also worth visiting for the pizzas; they have a crispy crust and diverse and original toppings.
There is a wide choice of pastry and Italian coffee with plant-based milk for a quick snack and takeaway. Be patient until October 10 because Vegitalian Amsterdam will officially open its doors.
