If I could name one city in the world where I would like to wake up tomorrow, it would be New YorkThe city that never sleeps, the concrete jungle where dreams are made. New York never bores! Whether you want to soak up some culture, are looking for the best hotspots, want to shop, or are looking for some greenery. New York has it all. The most famous are, of course, Manhattan and Brooklyn, with its various sub-neighborhoods. But which one should you go to? To make New York even more fun, this blog post lists 101 of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Enjoy!

- ChelseaChelsea is a neighborhood with an artistic edge. If you're looking for unique galleries, this is the place to be. Also worth a visit: the High Line: a repurposed tram line that connects Chelsea to the Meatpacking District.
Must visit hotspots: Chelsea Market, The Meatball Shop, Blue Bottle Coffee

- ChinatownWhen you're in Chinatown, it really feels like you've stepped out of New York and into China. With all those brightly colored Chinese food stalls, fish markets, and small shops selling Asian herbs and spices.
Must visit hotspots: Pharmacy, The Fat Radish, Nom Wah Tea Parlor.

- East VillageA slightly more upscale neighborhood in New York is the East Village. Here you'll find many classic, tall houses. However, it's not a stiff neighborhood, because from early morning until late at night it's lively here, and happy hours are everywhere.
Must visit hotspots: Cafe Mogador, Third Rail Coffee, Momofuku Noodle Bar.

- Greenwich VillageA beloved neighborhood among New Yorkers because of its pleasant, almost village-like atmosphere. With a bakery and grocery store on every corner, but also trendy hotspots for a bite to eat and a drink on that same corner.
Must visit hotspots: Jeffrey's Grocery, by CHLOE, Rosemary's.

- HarlemAbove Central Park lies Harlem, the neighborhood known for its African-American roots. But you should also come here for jazz music and soul food. Keep in mind, however, that it's not always safe there at night.

- Little ItalyThis small neighborhood is bursting with cozy (Italian) restaurants and small boutiques. But as busy and lively as it is during the day, it's just as peaceful and quiet in the evening. Perfect for finding a hotel if you're looking for a quiet evening.

- Lower East SideLower Manhattan is where you'll instantly feel at home, especially in the Lower East Side. Stroll the streets, grab a coffee, and dress up for an evening of cocktails.

- Meat Packing District: formerly New York's hippest neighborhood, now the ultimate nightlife destination. During the day, shop at designer boutiques and grab a bite to eat at small eateries. At night, you can really let your hair down.

- nohoThis boho-chic neighborhood showcases historic architecture and is home to hotspots that focus on artisanal products. Just be aware: it comes at a price.

- NolitaYou'll fall in love with romantic Nolita. A neighborhood characterized by narrow streets, sunny terraces, small boutiques, and the finest restaurants.
Must visit hotspots: Seamore's, Little Rascal, Epistrophy.

- SohoSoho is the neighborhood where major brands like Chanel and Prada are housed in impressive industrial buildings. It's also the perfect place for designer furniture stores and art galleries. While you can certainly shop here, be sure to check out the beautiful houses and French fire escapes.

- TriBeCaOne of New York's best neighborhoods, so don't be surprised if one celebrity after another walks by. The red-brick buildings and excellent restaurants are also characteristic.

- Upper East SideClassic and chic, that's the Upper East Side. In this neighborhood, you'll find luxury hotels, marble foyers, and the finest designer boutiques.

- Upper West SideOn the other side of Central Park, in the Upper West Side, you'll find mostly wealthy families. Admire the beautiful houses and explore the side streets for great brunch spots.

- DumboLocated at the foot of the famous Brooklyn Bridge is Dumbo, a neighborhood of industrial warehouses and vintage lofts, green parks, and hidden corners.

- GreenpointThe neighborhood is known for its large warehouses and storehouses and is home to both families and young entrepreneurs. From Greenpoint, you also have a phenomenal view of the Manhattan skyline.

- Red hookLocated below Carroll Gardens, you'll find Red Hook, a somewhat difficult-to-reach neighborhood because there's no subway stop here. Former warehouses have been transformed into community centers, cafes, and performance spaces. 

- Williamsburg: Williamsburg is a food and shopping paradise and Bedford Avenue is a popular street with various (Vintage) shops. Stroll through the various side streets for cozy restaurants and great coffee bars.
